The most important to know was how Pug reappeared, so he lived anyhow.
In one of the books there were repetitions about the past, just as if the book had been intended for a magazine. I know that the tension must be exchanged for other less tense events, but those frequent text repetitions should have dropped. On the other hand, is was a mighty, interesting, valuable content, just like many of his fans confirm. The author himself is a rare talent of this planet. Were there just a few more like him.

Fantasy has its roots in realism (or is it the other way around?)
As with any series, there were times that the plot and characters got dull. Redeeming factor was that the characters were believable. Even though this was a fantasy series, one could apply the basic theme and characters to deal life situations such as conflict of interests, conflict of racism, conflict of mistrust between nations, and egos in general.
