NEVER LET ME DOWNCouldn't wait to open it upon receiving the package. As described, It's in blue and black, has a similar appearance with LAUNCH cr8001. I looked through the user manual and had a general understanding about it.It is easy to connect the diagnostic tool with data link connector which is located under the instrument. The diagnostic tool will be powered on automatically at that time. The screen is big enough so that I can look through various interfaces with ease. For making sure this scanner hasn't any quality problems, I tested it.The advertising describes that this scan tool support four mainstreams systems diagnoses as a result initially I diagnosed the transmission system and it told me that the system was ok. Then came to the ABS system, this scanner showed a trouble code to me. I cleared the trouble code immediately with it. Thus the warning light of abs turned off. Quite efficient. (The warning light came on again after several days and I guessed that it is an essential part to have those specific troubles down before clearing the codes. In view of this problem, I consulted the seller via amazon Q&A, they gave me a certain reply quickly). About its reset service, i have ever used this device to reset the service mileage. Sure, it was carried out after I changed the oil already. Except from the Oil reset, I didn't get chance to try as my car wasn't drove for long distance. I believed that it wouldn't make me disappointed as it worked well on diagnosing transmission and abs systems.

I have my car for about a year, so I do not know much about repairing cars, but this scanner helps me a lot, with he I was able to erase some errors. It also allows you to figure out which problems are persistent and which ones is one off, which allows you to decide which problems should be given the highest priority. This unit does a whole lot of other functions that I haven’t even begun to explore yet. It saved me a good amount of money instead of going to the mechanic. I am very pleased and will certainly recommend it to my friends!

Works great, easy to use. Was able to fix my P0420 code by viewing the live data. It was a bad 02 sensor. It'll save me money in the long run.

couldn't even read codes on a Honda. Engine light is on but machine says no codes present. Instructions are horrible. Website sucks too. What a waste of 200$.

I purchased the Launch Creader 8001S to help diagnose the ABS on a 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback. Before ordering I checked the question and answers section. One question that was asked was "Does it work on Japanese vehicles? The answer from Launch Sales said yes as long as it was a 16 pin connector it would work" Mine came back with the message NOT SUPPORTED.So I tried the SRS system and got the same message. Trans test gave the same message. I did not bother to try some of the other features. It may work to read engine codes. They advertise that is is a professional scanner. I have been an ASE Master Automotive Technician for a good many years and wanted something for home use.When I contacted the Launch company through Amazon they said my car was too old and the only scanner they had that would work is the X431 V+ which is their $1200.00 unit. So apparently there are no other unit they make that will work on these vehicles, I have this one that may or may not work on my American vehicles, but I would not buy another product made by this seller. Amazon should check what these sellers are saying in the ads and have them show some proof.
