Bullet Ball -Baseball Pitching Speed Sensor, White

Came on time and as described! Bought it for a birthday gift and man it was a HIT! Everyone at the party wanted to try it out! Kids to adults were out there trying to throw it and see who had the fastest arm! I think we have a winner! Birthday boy was 10, but everyone, literally everyone wanted to try it out and was having a blast! Bottom Line: Worth every dime!

Despite all the negative reviews, I decided to buy one of these to test my pitching speed. Assuming that a huge problem people had with these balls was not properly using it correctly, I gave it a chance. I figured that the way the ball calculated pitch speed was the time it took for a ball to be released to the time it took to be catched, factored with the distance the ball was set. So someone pitching 50mph from 30 feet away, while having set the distance to 60 feet away, was undoubtedly going to get a 100mph reading. I figured if I could avoid doing something like that, the ball would actually be helpful. Wrong. From the get-go, I had difficulty setting the ball distance to what I actually wanted and after 20 aggrevating minutes of doing the exact same thing and reading the instructions several times, the ball finally decided to do what I was trying to get it to do. Finally, after setting the ball's distance properly by some sort of miracle, I took it outside with a friend to give it a pitch. We measured a 45' distance between his glove and my moment of release and I threw some warmup pitches with another ball. When it was time to actually throw the bullet ball, it wouldn't turn on even though instructions clearly said you had to tap it once to achieve this. I kept tapping it and tapping it again several times and after 2 minutes, the ball finally decided to turn on. I threw it, battery covering and battery both shot out of the ball as soon as it went into my friend's glove. Friend caught it dead center of his glove and I know for a fact that I can't pitch over 70mph. Kind of a waste considering I spent a very long time trying to make it work and then having it fail on me on the first pitch. Would not recommend.

My grand nephew loves pitching, and this ball has helped

I saw a lot of people miss-using this product online, then complaining it was not accurate. I thought maybe it would be reliable if they used it according to the instructions, however I was wrong. Still garbage. You have to throw it 40' or 60' in order for it to be accurate, and you have to select the distance you will be throwing by hitting the ball against your hand after entering "setup" mode. However, it would change from 40' to 60' on its own after a few throws. It also seemed really inconsistent. Similar throws, way different results. Then you don't know what's good and what's not, so useless. Also, the plastic battery cover was soft plastic that was damaged quickly from a screwdriver.

Only reason I gave a 4 star is because when we got it, it didn't work. The battery was dead and we had to replace it. Otherwise my grandson loves it. He has been in baseball since he as 5 years old. He is now 15 and has been pitching mostly the last 2 years. It is accurate because he has been officially clocked.

If you are purchasing this ball to gauge your up-and-coming pitcher's speed, I would be hesitant. I purchased this because my son is currently taking baseball clinics (age 12) and developing/honing his pitching. In order to make the team next year, he will likely need to pitch at approximately 55mph. I followed the instructions to setup the ball and tried to measure out the distance from the catcher to pitcher in my yard, but I must be doing something wrong. At times, the ball doesn't register at all. I've caught the ball and heard the "smack" in my glove, but no readings appear. Other times, he's pitched and the ball lands just at my feet and it will read 80-100'somthing which can't be right. Now that the weather is warmer and I can get my son on the mound, I'll try again. More feedback to come.

It's as bad as the reviews say. For a novelty it's fine. Not accurate. We used it to see velocity changes and never payed attention to the actual number because we knew it wasn't right. If you take the novelty into consideration it was fun while it lasted. Took the battery out and the end of the season and put a fresh one in the spring. Would not turn on. Not worth the money.

Bought this for my grandaughter last Christmas and even after changing the battery it never worked! I would leave 0 stars if I could this product is a dud! DO NOT BUY!
