Handy Light for testing IR switches
If you're trying to debug whether an IR light-switch is working properly due to a burned out IR-LED, this is a handy way to light up the receive sensor. It does have a subtle red glow in the LEDs like a lot of NIR products, some people don't like this, however it gives you an easy way to figure out if the flashlight is working or not without using a digital camera, NVGs, or an IR viewing phosphor.I wish the beam pattern were a little better, that's the only thing keeping it from a 5-star.

For Science Demo
I use this for a science demo. It works very well, my only reason for not giving it five stars is that it has no indication on the light itself to let you know if it is on or off. A slide switch would be a better option than the push button that toggles between on and off.

Best IR light you can buy for the money.
Although small and light, this IR flashlight really lights up the target area. It was so good, we immediately order a second one to mount on an AR. This was a perfect compliment to a new IR night vision monocular giving us a clear view. The zoom is a nice feature depending on how wide of a beam you need.

Inadequate
Too small of an IR to be any good. Compact but completely inadequate for any real use with night vision products. Roughly 30 - 50 feet on its most focused setting. Save your money.

Not again
This Flashlight only puts out enough light to use within 6 inches of the subject.

Bright
I haven't used it out in a field or anything, but this works great in a large parking lot/building type environment. Very bright. Used with a Gen 3 PVS-14. I like the focus especially. And the batteries can be removed while it is still mounted to the helmet

works. not very powerful, but for the price point cannot complain. use with my digital night vision
