does this make reg.coffee

Actually I make regular coffee each morning. One and a half scoops of coffee and a whole carafe of water (make sure you don't go over the silver rim). It gives 3/4 of a mug of delicious, strong coffee.

I have lost about all pressure both in the wand and in making espresso -- does it just need to be cleaned and with what?

I fear that your espresso machine has probably run its course. You might try running a descaler through it (very cheap at Morrissons) in case it's just scaled up. Failing that, you'll have to replace it.

What is the lever that flips up and down on the portafilter handle for? I can't attach the filter with it up.

You leave it down when you are attaching the filter to the machine. After brewing espresso, you can remove the filter handle assembly from the machine, flip up the lever, and turn the whole handle/filter assembly upside-down over a wastebasket or knockbox to bang the used espresso grounds out.

Does it come with a carafe? It's mentioned in the description but only shows 2 cups under it.

Yes... But as for the 2 cups.. no..
