There is no reason why not, but do not expect to get the RPMs as low as you can using a PWM signal be aware this model can get a little louder than the flx version as the max fan speed is higher, but that does come with more airflow and static pressure

can I run this off a 12v fan header on my motherboard/fan splitter?

yes, you can use as many splitters as you like, just check how many amps your board header maxes out at and add up your fans current draw, this fan is specked at 40 milliamp, 1000 milliamp = 1 amp
