Accurate and easy to use thermometer
Good baby thermometers are so hard to find. Once we were ready to graduate from the rectal thermometer we began purchasing different models. This is the only thermometer that was consistent and worked easily each time we needed it. I like the age profiles that you can change. Also the color changing screen is very nice especially for those overnight fever checks. You don’t have to think about if they’re running a fever.I couldn’t recommend this more.

I really like this thing
I really like this thing. After getting really sick, I realized that I needed a proper temperature thermometer. Something reliable and accurate, unlike the cheap ones I had lying around. So I took the plunge and spent more than I intended. After a few weeks of use: excellent build quality, easy to use, comfortable in the hand, large readable display with backlight, accurate (very important), memory recall and includes a protective case. Very happy and would buy again.WARNING: This comes with the two AA batteries, which is a nice touch. However, they are Duracell, aka "DuraLeaks" which have a notorious reputation for leaking. Do not leave batteries of ANY brand, in ANY electronic device that will not be regularly used. Leakage is a very real problem.

Works well for toddler
My little dude is pretty sensitive to having his temperature taken, especially in the ear. For whatever reason, he does not mind this thermometer. He enjoys looking at the different colors and "helping" with the child age selection. The read is fast and accurate (cross-referenced with other thermometers we have which we know to be accurate). This is absolutely worth paying the extra $20-$30 more than your average no-name thermometer as the quality is far superior.

Excellent - Worth the Money
I’m a family medicine physician. We needed a personal thermometer at home when caring for our kids, and we replaced a forehead thermometer with this one. The forehead version was simply inaccurate - it gave too much variation from minute-to-minute, and sometimes read temperatures over 105, which I knew weren’t accurate. Small children often run high temperatures into the 103-104 range in the evenings when fevers tend to be at their highest, but a reasonably playful and active child simply won’t have a temp of 105 or higher, so I lost any confidence in the other one. It also provoked a lot of unnecessary anxiety for my wife. This version is consistent and appears to be accurate after quite a number of uses, and it’s very easy to use. I would definitely recommend it over the forehead version we had previously, and a reliable and consistent thermometer is worth the money to me.

Not perfect but the best so far according to CR
CR rated this at 92, its highest of home thermometers. It is simple to use and very nice. The negative: while CR rated it accurate, it was not perfect. My old thermometer said 99.1 It said 101.4 and 20-30 minutes later at Mayo hospital, their temperature reading was 98.1. We did take 1 Tylenol.

Accurate
Works great for my toddler. I have multiple forehead thermometers and they always read drastically different. With this one I get the same reading multiple times so I know I am getting an accurate temperature.

For any new parent - this is the one!
I think we went through 5 or 6 other thermometers ranging from the speed-gun type, to contact, non-contact, you name it. Finally I spent a bit more to get the Braun because that is what the doctors office uses and we never looked back.Yes, you have to place it in their ear and yes, you'll need to buy the plastic tips eventually, but what you're getting back is accuracy when you need it most. Most of the others had wildly variable readings - when your kid has a 101 temperature and your other thermometer is showing ,"98, wait, 103, no, it's 99.6" then you'll regret buying the cheap ones or the fancy "touchless" one etc. I give this to new parents as presents all the time to save them going through what we went through.
