The portable charger does not get hot while in use.

Does this power bank support pass-through charging, meaning it can be charged and power a device at the same time?

Yes but it will take forever to fully charge the device. I'm talking 37 hours if in use.

Only plug phone into battery when phone is low. Yes press the button to start recharging your phone. I find this device will recharge up to 80% before running dry. So battery will save dead phone ONE time.. then go recharge both. Good product.
