manage expectations
It's well designed and straightforward to control, with not too many buttons on it, but I don't feel confident about letting it run unattended., More than once the motor started grating very loudly between fifty minutes and an hour from the time it started, and I don't know what would have happened had I not turned it off in a big hurry. In one case it wasn't even half full. It certainly gets cold but might need a more powerful motor. Maybe that's why commercial grade ice cream makers are so much more expensive. I'll need to get used to running it for less time and finishing the job by putting the ice cream in the freezer. Disclosure: my wife says I should mention that I'm making vegan ice cream with low fat ingredients, which might affect the performance.
