No, there is no adjustment on the blades.

Yes I had to go electric because I started cutting myself on a regular and being on blood thinners not so good. After shaving I use a post electric lotion and I'm well happy

It’s a skin shave. if you’re used to clippers on a bare blade, this cuts much shorter than that. Be prepared to feel your smooth scalp with your hand. I wasn’t prepared and it made me feel uneasy.
