UniFlame, S-1062, Medium Single Panel Black Wrought Iron Fireplace Screen with Doors

The package arrived and it was just like everyone else has said - flimsy and not nearly enough protection for it. That said, mine was undamaged and I put it together without a problem. The overall quality is good, and I love the look of it. It sits flush against the fireplace and is a plain, classic look that I was trying to find.

The second screen we received had a few flaws in it, but we didn't want to do another exchange. Love the way the doors open making it easy to get to the fire. Careful....the handles do get hot.

Was looking on line for specific size screen. This large size screen met that need. Was pleasantly surprised when it arrived that the quality was exceptional. Did not see any weld problems that others have complained about.This item is heavy and that's a good thing. It comes with feet you attach to keep it stable and 2 additional L brackets for the opposite side. Instead of attaching them to opposite side, I JB Welded the small ones to the same side as the decorative legs thus making it tilt towards the fireplace area. I placed them right under the decorative legs and you don't notice them. This made it even more stable and moved it closer to the hearth opening. I added 2 rubber spacers to the upper frame where it leans against the tile. Some have complained about it tilting away from opening. This solved the problem. Love the 2 doors that open in the center. This unit is heavy enough that it does not move when I pull on the doors to access the fireplace area. If you have any DIY skills, use them and you will not be disappointed.

Easy to assemble and looks great, but my fireplace has a slight incline in front of it so the product cannot stand alone, it tilts to the front and can fall. So we had to improvise and put tiles under the front legs to prevent falling. I wish it had a more flexible installation option for uneven surfaces. I also wish it was sturdier, we have to pay attention so it doesn’t fall.

The projection of the legs at the sides of the screen is not enough to stabilize the screen when both doors are open. If we open both doors, the entire screen falls forward. This only applies to the large size screen. We first bought the smaller one, but it was too small for our fireplace, so we exchanged it for this one. I really like the look of the screen, so I'm going to have someone weld extensions to it to keep it from falling forward. (I do not want it permanently attached to our fireplace with screws.)

Fits our fireplace perfectly and fits flush, which is what we wanted.

This piece has a TON of potential. It looks super nice and is quality material, but....................there are a few small problems we have had to learn to live with. First, it didn't come with all of the screws and bolts so we don't have enough to attach the feet all the way. We tried some others and we haven't found the right size yet. Second, it you fireplace isn't perfectly level, it really sits at a tilt. Our stone fireplace is exactly that...stone. Which means there are some higher up spots than others because the rocks aren't perfectly flat. As a result, our screen was leaning so far forward there was a good 4-5 inch gap along the top edge, even though the bottom was flush with the fireplace. It was so wobbly and made us very nervous. We simply put a few stones under the two feet to match the rest of the stone. You can definitely see the stone props, but it isn't too bad and at least the stcreen is flush with the fireplace all around.

This looks so good and is very sturdy. I wish it was less expensive but it is worth the price!

It is as advertised but has the issue with the gap between the doors of the screen. We will have to add something to close this gap to prevent sparks from flying out.

dimension are good, quality is strong, price is 50% what my local store is selling this for. nothing negative. delivery was on time. easy to put together.

Exactly as I expected. It's fit and soundness fit my needs perfectly.
