Great running companion
This bottle is great for runners, especially those not wanting to carry heavy bottles while running distances.Other reviewers were accurate in stating that this bottle requires more energy to extract the liquid from the bottle, but you don't need a whole lot at a given moment while in a race anyway, so it's perfectly fine. I wouldn't want a lot to come out at once anyway, so I'm fine with needing to exert more effort than the traditional bottle.Aside from that, it's easy to clean, easy to carry, and very brightly colored (which I appreciate as a visually impaired person). The one 'con' for me is that the storage compartment is not big enough to hold my pixel 2xl. My guess is that it's better suited to a small iPod....Note: If you found this review to be helpful, please indicate that by clicking the appropriate button below. Thanks!

Exactly What I Needed
I recently began walking 10K+ at a time (6.2 miles or more.) I live in Florida and want to be minimalist when out walking. I was carrying a disposable water bottle because the reusable ones that I had were too heavy or bulky. But I was annoyed that once I drank a bit the water was sloshing around in the disposable bottle and I had to grip it the whole time and my ha ds would get sweaty on the plastic too. I looked at a ton of options and settled on this one. 12 oz size was fine for me. If I wanted much more than that I would probably look at hydration vests and not handhelds. The pouch could hold some nutrition or even a pepper spray for safety. It is very easy to use. I can switch hands easily enough if I want to. Easy to bite and open valve and squeeze into mouth. Water does not slosh around much at all because bottle collapses inward a bit as you drink water out. It is one pull on cord to keep it tight on hand. Can run through dishwasher easily. I am glad I spent the money for this bottle - definitely worth it for me.

Like Everything About These
Bought 2, just used these for Buffalo Marathon. I like handheld bottles on long runs. The push-pull caps are the best. I wouldn't buy bottles with the 'race caps' again, they fall apart and have to be replaced, I covered this in another review. The pouches are not big but I do not use them for my phone. Please note that I bought the high-vis green. I can't be sure about the other colors, in particular with respect to the taste that some of the other reviewers reported, but mine do not taste funny at all. Also, I have fairly small hands for a man and the straps seem to loosen almost all the way for me to fit my bare hands in. So they're perfect for me, but I'm not sure about someone with larger hands. I have another set of (non insulated) Nathan bottles for colder weather and the straps are not quite as small (I wear these with gloves on. That's about it. I like these bottles very much.

I like it... but.....
I really like this bottle.BUT, it’s not a 5:-pouch does fit iPhone 8 BUT barely and I feel like it’s going to explode the mesh.-the tightening strap is cute BUT it doesn’t stay put. Going to try to add son Velcro myself or something.

Totally gripless, highly ergonomic.
Absolutely love this. I had an older version that I used while I trained for a half marathon and it was a lifesaver. It’s been a while but I’ve been getting out for longer hikes and walks and got an updated version and it’s great. It has always taken me so much energy just to work out let alone have to expend energy to hold something. This is secure in my hand, totally needs no grip and you can relax your arm and shoulder and forget you have it on. This newer version has a squeeze mouth that is a little tougher to drink out of but you can leave the spout open and still walk/run and it won’t leak. When I do drink, it’s a mix of me squeezing and sucking.Only issue I’ve had is not getting the lid screwed on well, it’s hard to tell and I try to make sure to flip it over to make sure it’s right. I didn’t once and it leaked in my bag. My fault. I love the pouch for my eye drips, car key and lip balm.I like to fill it halfway, keep it in the freezer and then in the morning before I head out to the trails, I fill it up with water. The ice melts nicely.Only downfall: tan lines! Haha.

Horrible Plastic Taste/Odor
So I have used many Nathan products in the past, mostly handheld water bottles for running. All of them have been mostly great, with the except of a few leaky nozzles which was addressed on this particular model. However, never in my life have I had something taste and smell so badly like plastic. I have tried numerous things to get the odor/taste out of it. I'm not even sure how safe it is to be using its so bad. I know there's one thing for sure, nothing worse than running in extreme heat, needing some water, only to take a sip and have to spit it out because of how horrible it tastes. I've tried both water and lately gatorade to try to mask the taste. Regardless, after numerous tries to clean and scrub it with hot soapy water, running it through the dish washer, letting it soak in warm soapy water, using a scrubbing brush pushed down in it to try to scrub the sides...nothing has remove this smell. I really want to purchase another one just to see if it was a problem with just mine, but after ready a few others reviews, there are some out there. But then again, there are other reviews who dont claim this. I'd be curious if anyone else has had this with this particular model, but I am only writing this review just so you are aware that some of these do have this odor / plastic taste which is overpowered.

Ergonomically perfect
I love this bottle. I resisted a handheld as I thought I didn't want to be bothered "carrying" something during my runs. But the bottle effectively adheres to my hand via the strap and I barely realize I'm carrying it. The 12 oz version is just the right weight when filled with water and lasts me for a 6-7 mile run on a warm day. The pocket isn't large enough for my iphone 7 in a carrying case but the phone would fit in the pocket if it wasn't in a carrying case. I keep energy chews and salt tablets in the pocket.

Perfect for summer runs 16km or less!
I bought this item because the previous handheld water bottle I owned only held 10oz of water, and I was finding that this was not enough for my runs up to 16km. I found that this 12oz bottle is just enough water for those 16km runs. It also holds multiple gels in the pouch which is nice. It is relatively comfortable on my hand - although when I have tightened it during my run due to it slipping a bit from sweat, I noticed that my hand can start to go numb/lose circulation, so it definitely needs to be just a tad loose. I haven't tried putting ice in it, so I'm not sure how well the "insulation" works. Overall I am happy with this purchase!

Awesome water bottle
Love it, great for runs where I don't want something strapped to my waist or back. When full it's not too heavy that it's uncomfortable, and it keeps water cold very well.

Water got in between inner and outer layers
Used a few times the water got into between the bottle body and the outer layer. Can’t dry out.

Pretty comfortable to hold
Pretty comfortable to hold, and good for runs about an hour long.Only downside right now is that there is a very strong plastic smell inside that I haven't been able to get rid of, even with multiple washings.
