Can these hinges be mounted with nuts and bolts or is some sort of glue required? one surface will be abs sheet, and the other surface aluminum sheet.

Hi, thank you for the question. Either nuts and bolts can be used or glue. I would recommend a 2 part epoxy for aluminium. At the minimum, if you do use gorilla glue or something similasr, scuff the aluminium surface, to obtain a better adhesion. Superglue doesn't allow flexibility, so not ideal. We are released a self adhesive version of the flex hinge, with specific VHB doubled side tape, these will be in stock soon. I hope this helps, CR

Can the hinge bend around fully so that the two joined faces meet like a closed laptop? I would be joining two 2-mm plates of glass.

Yes it can but keep in mind that you are folding over a solid strip of rubber so it will bend all the way over but not totally flat.
