I bought these two combination locks for my 11 year old son to use on his school locker. He and a friend had been sharing a locker and were using a key style lock. Needless to say, my son lost his key and was locked out of the locker. The only time he could access his books and supplies is when the other boy was around to let him use his key. I told my son to ask his friend if a combination lock would be ok, but he hesitated because he didn't like the dial type locks that they normally use in school. So I found these that are 4 digits and have easy to read numbers on them. A major plus is that the boys could both decide upon a combination that was easy to remember and set the lock themselves. When you first get the lock, the combination is set to all zeros, once you decide on a new number all you have to do is open the lock and turn the hasp 90 degrees and lock it down, then you simply set whatever 4 digit number you want and close the lock. So far this lock has met my expectations. It feels like it is made well and should hold up great for basic use of securing your belongings. I got this mainly for use on a locker at the gym and at work. The case feels solid. The number dials move easily but do not seem to have too much play in them. I like how you can create your own 4 digit code. It’s preset at 0000 and is super easy to change to your own. You can change the combination as many times as you like as long as you don’t forget what you set it to. It comes with a little instruction sheet on how to set your own combo. It will take you about 1 minute to read the instructions and set your own code. Overall, great purchase.

not a high security lock but I just need to lock down my emergency supplies so they r fine. Only want to mention that once you put the combo in and unlock it can be easy to accidentally reset the combo if you are not careful. In the dark trying to jiggle the lock Out of the whole it was in after unlocking it, I accidentally reset the lock off by 1 digit. Took awhile to figure out what I reset it to and set it back.

i've been meaning to get a lock for myself for the gym locker. the locks with a key were so annoying, i mean, who wants to be carrying around a key while you're working out right? i love that i get two and the black and silver combination is super nice. setting your own combination is a great feature too and it's super easy to set. very simple, very sleek, easy to use lock with the durability that you need to have in a lock. would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a combination lock for any reason!!

Great for what we use them for. This photo is taken after this lock being outside for a full winter with plenty of snow and already a ton of rain in the spring. Still looks and works perfectly.Was easy to set the code, easy to operate and works well. We only use this to keep a small storage unit full of toys locked, so did not need anything super heavy duty. For that, this does a great job.

I ordered two sets and 3 of the 4 work as they should. One will not close so I'm going to have to return a set, not just the one defective lock. Otherwise, they seem solid and are heavier than I expected. I ordered them for pool gates, but I don't yet know how they'll hold up outside.

In the past I purchased locks that come with a predetermined pass-code. I love these so much more since I have set them up with my own passcode that I will not forget. They seem very sturdy. I wish they came in some fun colors, though.
