Very good driveway monitor. Recommended.
Purchased this with an additional PIR sensor to compliment our existing CCTV system and to provide an audible alert when visitors approach our house. The system is very easy to set up - multiple sensors can be added to up to four zones. Each zone can be set to provide a different audio and visual alert so you can easily identify which zone has been triggered. The PIR sensor that came with the main unit was faulty and only worked when very close (within 50cm) to the main unit. The seller (TongWD88) provided prompt and helpful feedback to confirm the nature of the fault before sending a replacement PIR. The additional sensor that I purchased worked perfectly out of the box and the replacement PIR also worked perfectly and arrived within a few days.I have one sensor fitted about 10 feet up in a large tree which overlooks our drive, and another sensor concealed closer to our front door. The PIR sensor range can be set to 6 or 12 metres, so the two sensors are sufficient to effectively cover our drive. The sensors do not seem to result in any 'false alarms' so far. We get quite a few foxes in the area and these do not seem to set the sensors off, though this may be down to positioning of the sensors. The furthest sensor is probably about 30 metres from the main unit, and the PIR signal has no problem passing through the wall to reach the main unit when anyone approaches the house. The PIR sensors and main unit both appear to be well made. The outdoor PIR sensors are weather resistant and come with 'filters' which allow you to focus the area of coverage. This is probably also a likely reason why the PIR's don't seem to generate any false alarms. For an inexpensive solution that alerts you to visitors before they reach your front door, this system ticks all the boxes.Definitely recommended as a stand alone or additional enhancement to existing home security systems.

Does what it should do.
The reason for buying this was due to having two occasions where people have walked up the front path and tried the front door, I saw them on the CCTV but was only alerted to the fact that something had happened as the gate was left open. Hence the search for something to alert me to visitors, welcome or otherwise. The item itself is quite small, the build quality feels fairly cheap and brittle plastic, OK, it is only £40 but I would expect a better quality, this also extends to the speaker, it is fairly loud and does alert you but it sounds muffled. Another reviewer did comment on the voice warning, you can change this so as it is just a tone that plays, I did this as the voice warning was useless. You also need to buy some batteries, 2 AA for the PIR and the base station can run from batteries or be installed to run from the mains with the supplied adaptor, for ease I have used the adaptor however you may want to have some batteries installed so as you can move the base station around (if you have a big house).Installation wise it was very easy, I affixed the PIR sensor to a fence post and angled it slightly towards the front door, the receiver is upstairs in the front bedroom which is used as an office. It was fitted in less than five minutes. Distance between the PIR and the base unit is around 30 feet. So far the item has worked faultlessly, the activity period is quite short so if the postman walks in it sets off, and seconds later when they walk out it goes off again, personally I prefer this as it would alert you if someone was "lurking" outside. One major downside from my point of view is the security of the PIR sensor, it could easily be removed by anyone if they know it is there, there should be some way of securing the PIR head to the base so as it cannot just be pulled off.I know there are more expensive options out there but so far this does seem to be doing what it was intended to do, you do have the option with this to add another 3 sensors meaning the system can run four individual PIRS in different locations around the property.

Brilliant
This is our second one for a separate rear entrance. Works brilliantly and we know as soon as anyone enters the premises. The original one is still going strong on our front gate after two and half years. Rarely needs the batteries recharged and occasionally we get an unexpected alert when a bird uses it as a perch but can’t fault it. Really easy to set up and once it’s in place it works superbly.

Rubbish, detector constantly going off with no apparent reason
Arrived quickly. The instructions were brief and I found difficult to followUnit was compact and tried the set up in the house to start. seems to work ok. then when detector positioned outside as per guide it alarmed erratically. So basically no used

Outstanding value and performance
After a month of use I can say that this is a really good little system that has yet to false alarm. The system is easy to program and the three additional sensors I bought are assigned to different zones. The control unit sounds an alarm when triggered and announces which zone has triggered. The control comes with an alternative mains supply and the sensors (battery powered) will tell the control when their batteries are low. I am astonished that they can provide so many features at such a low price. I'll have to wait and see how durable the device is but the external sensors seem pretty robust.

Limited Life Span
I had one of these for 2 years up until the point water got in to the outdoor sensor and it kept continually triggering the indoor unit with false alarms. The outdoor sensor batteries lasted for about a year. The receiver in the house worked OK but was of fairly brittle plastic which I powered with a mobile phone charger as it's battery life wasn't that great.I've since replaced this device with HOSMART 1/2 Mile Rechargable Weatherproof Outdoor/Driveway Wireless Motion Alarm System Outdoor Weatherproof Motion Sensor & Detector(1 Receiver and 1 Coffee Sensor)
