AUTO-VOX 7.2" Solar Wireless Reversing Camera Kit with DVR Loop Recording

I needed a reverse camera for our Citroën C3 Aircross. The boot is quite high and it’s hard to judge the distance when getting close to other parked cars or walls. I have purchased other Auto-Vox cameras before and have always been happy with the quality and relative cheap price compared to their competitors. I have the an Auto-Vox solar reverse camera on our Motorhome that we purchased about a year ago and we are pleased with its performance, so when the new Solar 3C model came out we thought we would get one. I purchased from Amazon and it came the next day. It was an absolute breeze to set up. So easy. Plus, what I liked about the 3C is that it’s got a better screen (small and wide) than our previous model. When I tested (always a good idea before full instal) it was paired already. The only thing you have to do is charge the camera in preparation. I put it on charge and went for a short walk with the dog and it was ready to instal. I installed within 30 minutes. If I were to be hyper critical, the camera moves 70 degrees (up or down), but I would have preferred that to be a just little more, other than that it’s absolutely brilliant. The bracket ensures that it does not interfere with my number plate, so it is hardly noticeable. The picture is clean and crisp with 1080p clarity, there is no untidy wires anywhere, it is completely wireless and seamless. With the solar working, I’ll never have to charge it again (like my one on the motorhome).

I have had this solar wireless reversing camera for two months now. It is amazing; and it's perfect for how I'm using it. I operate a mobile youth centre trailer and I already use a wonderful AUTO-VOX camera (installed Feb 2023) that enables me to see behind the trailer while driving. My experience has always been that AUTO-VOX's products are amazingly reliable because my 2023 camera/screen/solar panel has never let me down and is always full of charge and kicks into action as soon as I need it. So I am very happy with this set of AUTO-VOX cameras and screen. One camera is installed on the back of an additional vehicle purchased to tow the mobile youth centre The other camera is installed on the back of the youth trailer. This means I can see (on the same wonderfully big screen) a very clear image of the van's towball as I hitch up to the trailer and I can also see a very clear image of what's behind the trailer when driving and parking. In fact it's wonderfully clear and bright at night when I have to reverse-park into a tight space in a dark location which could be really difficult but AUTO-VOX's 1080 HD camera - and how it's easy to alter the camera's angle - has made this much much easier. I already knew that the camera and screen would be very quick and easy to install because of my experience with other AUTO-VOX products and I was right! The screen and cameras were as always very quick and easy to mount securely. I did wonder if the length of the van and trailer would be a slight problem for the screen to pick up the camera's signal but there was no problem at all. In fact as soon as the van is in range of the trailer's camera (which is actually a huge distance - I'll test this out sometime), the screen picks it up. I will include a daytime and nighttime photo when I can. I will be relying a lot on this camera set and so I will update this review as I use it more and more in the future. In the meantime, first impressions with AUTO-VOX's new product - extremely impressed yet again! And this camera set makes my job much, much easier. Thanks AUTO-VOX!

Really pleased with this camera system. The solar charging feature is very convenient, and the wireless installation made setup fast and simple. The screen quality is sharp, reversing is much safer now, and the connection has been reliable with no lag. The DVR recording feature is a nice extra touch. Overall, a well-designed and practical product.

Pretty impressed with this little gadget! The AUTO-VOX 7.2” Solar Wireless Reversing Camera was way easier to install than I expected — no messing around with wires everywhere. The solar charging actually works really well (even in the not-so-sunny UK weather), and the screen is a nice size for seeing what’s behind you clearly. Picture quality is solid — crisp enough in daylight and still decent at night. The wireless signal holds up well most of the time, though I did get the odd momentary lag, which is why it’s not a full five stars. Overall, it’s a smart, convenient bit of kit that makes reversing a lot less stressful. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a quick upgrade without a complicated setup.

I’m really happy with the AUTO‑VOX 7.2" Solar Wireless Reversing Camera with DVR Loop Recording. It was extremely easy to install — the sticky number‑plate mount meant no screws, no drilling, no hassle, which I loved. The camera connected quickly, and the 1080P picture quality is clear and reliable, making reversing and parking much easier. The only downside is that the mount covers a small part of the registration plate. I’m not thrilled about that and I’m hoping it doesn’t cause any issues or fines. Something to be aware of. Aside from that, the camera works brilliantly. The solar charging is convenient, the screen is a good size, and the whole setup feels solid and well‑designed. Overall, a great product — just wish the plate coverage was slightly better thought out.

The two solar powered cameras are excellent positioned high and low level on the back of my motorhome, I have a fiamma ultra box on the back which obscured the view from the factory fitted camera. So these cameras allow far better vision behind the motorhome and incredibly clear pictures so simple to fit and ti pair them takes literally minutes. Its just been for a service and habitation check and they asked where I got the cameras as they were also impressed with them 10 out of 10 so easy to use when driving as well

Excellent quality product with options to mount the unit. For uk number plates it is easier to mount on top of number plate taking care not to obscure numbers or lights. I have only charged the unit once on receipt and it has stayed fully charged for many months. The picture quality is good with an option for different durations. As a bonus this is particularly useful when joining motorways or any slip roads to maintain good visibility. The activation button could benefit from an indicator as black in black frame but a small white marker fixed. I would recommend this unit as efficient with good field of view and versatility.

The camera works well once installed. Clear picture, instant connection, no wiring needed. But the mounting design feels geared toward US plates, which makes UK installation awkward. Top-mounting (as recommended) isn’t suitable on UK plates because it can cover part of the characters. Lifting it slightly avoids that, but can block the plate lighting. The camera also can’t tilt down far enough, so you often get too much sky, not enough ground. Bottom-mounting is allowed, but the solar panel is angled for a top position. When flipped, it faces slightly downward and gets less light. You also can’t adjust the solar panel angle. The bracket has very limited adjustment, and the display guide lines can only be turned on or off, not calibrated. The mounting holes don’t match UK plate fittings, so the sticky pads are the easiest option. I ended up mounting it inside the tailgate, which gives a better angle. Even with indirect daylight, the solar panel still seems to hold charge. Pros: clear image, quick connection, simple install Cons: not UK-plate friendly (risk of obscuring light / letters, maybe need to mount in alternative place), limited adjustments for camera angle (solar panel not adjustable at all), guidelines not adjustable

Très satisfait et très facile à installer

Ich hatte lange gezögert das Teil zu installieren, aber die Montage ging an meinem Golf Sportsvan sehr einfach: Es reicht, das Nummernschild abzunehmen (siehe Youtube für Anleitungen dazu) und mittels des Klebestreifen oben hinter dem Halter zu stecken. Der Kofferraum passte genau darüber, sodass die Kamera zwischen Nummernschild und Kofferraumdeckel quasi eingeklemmt ist und nicht auskann. Trotzdem kann man die Kamera noch drehen! Den kleinen Bildschirm auf das Armatourenbrett geklebt, das Kabel in den Zigarettenanzünder - schon war das Bild da! Kein Ärger mit Pairing oder Einstellungen. Man kann zwar einiges verändern, aber mit den Werkseinstellungen funktionierte es auf Anhieb. Das Ausschalten des Bildschirms passiert auch automatisch, nach einer einstellbaren Zeit. Beim Losfahren wird durch Einschalten der Zündung Monitor und Kamera aktiviert, und wenn man es am Ziel braucht, ein kurzer Druck auf die seitliche Taste des Monitors genügt. Der Monitor ist auch bei grellem Sommerlicht sehr gut ablesbar und ohne Ruckeln und ohne Verzögerung. Ich habe es angeschafft, damit ich mit einem montierten Fahrradträger noch rückwärts einparken kann, das klappt super, wenn ich die Kamera etwas nach unten neige. Dann passt die gelbe Markierung im Bild gut mit dem Ende des Trägers überein. Das Einparken geht jetzt stressfrei. Nur wenn noch Räder auf dem Träger sind, dann wird es etwas unübersichtlich. Alles in allem ein sehr gut durchdachtes Produkt, klare Kaufempfehlung!

The Auto Vox Solar Back Up camera is the second I have owned. This one also can be easily installed and doesn’t require any permanent wiring. I simply attached the camera with solar battery recharging unit to my license plate and plugged the monitor into the lighter plug in. Like my first one the image is sharp and reliable. I like that the newer model has a switch on the plug in to turn the camera on if I want to do it manually. Overall the battery life is good. In the winter months I have to self charge it on occasion due to lack of natural sunlight. In the summer it is no problem. I have found the manual helpful and I keep it in my glove compartment for easy access. It is an essential product for those of us with older vehicles without build in units. I have a blind spot backing out of my driveway and this really helps. Overall I think my Auto Vox solar back up camera was a good purchase and I would recommend it.
