They mean it when they say waterproof!
Had these a while now but they had the first proper test at this week's download festival.Muddy and sopping wet, but not a single drop got through my boots in 4 days of use. Comfortable and sturdy.

Pennine way
Walked the Pennine way in these boots doing a total of 325 miles and boots were amazing.Great comfy wide fit, couldn't really fault them for the price I paid around £50. Sure they weren't 100 percent waterproof but for the money great value

Cheap(-ish) but good (-ish)
These seem to get very varied reviews - from * to ***** with nothing much in between. My own experience suggests an overall ****. To start with, they were a comfortable fit right out of the box, not usual given my battered feet (culprit: 70 years of boots and wellies). I've now had them a year and wear them pretty much every day. Distances covered vary from short walks in local woods to days out on fells. Conditions underfoot also vary, from moderate to rough. I'm in Cumbria so, wherever and whenever, more often than not there's a lot of rain. After a year of that sort of use, I can report: overall condition of boots, still fine (soles somewhat worn but still solid; soles and uppers still firmly attached to each other); waterproofing has worked equally fine, even on days of steady rain. (I doubt they'd withstand a day on the fells of really torrential rain - but, then, few boots would.) One small criticism and one assumption. Criticism: the laces supplied are flat, not round, and not very sturdy: it's easy to get them partly caught in the top eye and for the lace as a result first to fray and then to disintegrate completely (verb. sap.!). Assumption based on the fact that the tread on the soles is not very deep (in places, it hardly exists: more a surface pattern than a tread): I doubt these would grip well in really frosty conditions. (Last winter, in my part of Cumbria at least, was exceptionally wet but also quite mild so it wasn't an assumption I was able to test in practice.) The disasters other people have had with them suggest a problem with quality control? Or a change of supplier? Or both!

Great value for money
Bought these to replace another pair of Hi-Tec boots that are six years old, are worn constantly but still wear left on the sole although getting a wee bit tatty so it was a no brainer to get another pair. In the past I’ve had expensive boots but these are the comfiest, best wearing and great value for money I’ve ever had…

Do NOT buy these boots!
I really wanted to like these boots. And don't get me wrong, I am happy to start repairing my walking boots after 2 or 3 years of use. But I bought these last July! There is a very obvious production fault. HiTec are sticking the sole to the material applied to the toecap. The problem is this material is NOT adhering to the toe and is peeling off. Obviously when it peels away it also takes the sole with it (see my photos). These boots have had reasonably light use and as I'm a wildlife photographer (among other things) I'm not out in horrible conditions (lightweight I know!)Other issues I've found are as follows:When I first put these boots on they felt great, the extra width is really good. However, after a short while walking in them, it's apparent that you lose the benefit of the extra width because the design still has a tapered toe. This design is self-defeating and I hope HiTec will read this. If you're adding width, please make sure not to taper the toe, at least on the side of the big toe. 'Bunion' might be an amusing term, but it conceals the painful reality for many people. See this 'taper' in my photo. I had hoped I might be able to 'wear in' the boots to make them more comfortable but it's clear there's no time to achieve this given that they're falling apart. The sole has very poor friction and is pretty useless/dangerous in the wet.The boots simply aren't waterproof, but I'm not sure if this is a claim made by the manufacturers.I was dismayed by the bright orange elements to the boots (top and bottom). I want to use these to walk in the wilds, I'm not taking them to a disco! Yes I know many mammals can't see orange very well, but plenty of other wildlife can. These boots are going back. They say you get what you pay for, but at nearly £70 I didn't even get that!

Very comfy, hard wearing APART from potentially poor sole to upper adhesion.
Hi-Tec Men’s Banderra li Wp Hi Rise Walking Boots.I found this a very comfy boot with good laces/securing setup. The boot was available in a good range of sizes and widths. I have wide feet and usually struggle to get a good fit and usually have to take something a bit too long to get the right width. Tried about 10 different brands/styles before finding these on “try before you buy “ on Amazon -that worked well for me. The Hi-Tec was a very good fit, and usable on longwalks and hikes after only few km from new.The boot stood up to a couple of hundred km of quite heavy use (was carrying a fairly hefty rucksack) across a variety of terrains, wet and dry, and sometimes very warm weather, for 6 to 7 continuous hours a day.One thing to note, it is not a water proof boot, while it didn’t let water in through the sole, the upper while water resistant is not water proof. The flip side to this is that the upper it is quite breathable and that certainly improves its hot weather performance - but better in hot dry weather than hot and wet when your feet might get quite sweaty. The sole was fairly grippy on soft/wet surfaces, very good on all others, and has stood up to moderate use very well, with little sign of wear and no splitting or separation of the sole structure itself.Unfortunately the sole recently separated from the upper toe of the left hand boot after about 10 months of mainly light/moderate use with about 1200 miles / 1800 km. I expect to see at least a couple of years moderate use from a mid price pair of hiking boots, so that was disappointing.Overall I really rated these boots, and would recommend without reservation if not for the sole to upper separation. Even with this problem they are a fair value, without it they would be very good value.

Bra för breda fötter. Lär dig hur man snörar via översta snörbyglarna: googla.
Mycket hållbara, så länge man undviker att misshandla kängorna (snubbla på stenar och rötter...).Jag har använt kängorna för regelbunden vandring (power-walks) i skog.Snörning av skor: Se Youtube "Everyone's Been Tying Their Shoe Laces Wrong ● Forever !" kanal "Chris Notap".

Sehr guter Wanderschuh.
