Amazon Brand - Solimo Lungo Nespresso Compatible Coffee Capsules, Dark Roast, 100 Count (2 Packs of 50), Rainforest Alliance Certified

i enjoy this coffee very much, they are extremely fair priced as such good value for money,my machine accepts these pods every time and the rate of flow is very good through the machine,i have to date have used over 200 pods and not had a single failure.the coffee is not bitter, or in any way taste like tobacco or ash like other budget pods, with no acidic aftertastes and completely smooth with a very mild fruity taste as such i find them equal to the taste of the very expensive Nespresso VOLLUTO pods which are my favourite of the Nespresso branded pods which i no longer buy due to cost,so if you like the volluto flavour i believe you will like these Solimo Nespresso Lungo capsules as a far cheaper alternative with a very similar taste, i obviously cant guarantee every batch will be the same but so far i have used well over 200 pods and they have been very consistent with the batches and pods of my past purchases.ok pod design may not be to everyone's expectations if you rather see aluminium pods in your machine as yes they are plastic but they absolutely work very well every time in my machine, anyway The plastic is the full safe food grade plastic which will not leach chemicals into the drink, plus in the uk many councils now accept food grade plastics in recycling so if you want to empty the pod and recycle you might well be able to do that in your area too, who knows it might go to make a plastic fence post or plastic park bench like they are doing in my area! so single use plastics or becoming less single use these days thankfully.i personally do have great reservations regarding consuming food stuffs held in aluminium pods as aluminium can leach into food over time and aluminium in my opinion is not safe for the brain so i personally try to avoid aluminium foil wraps and aluminium cooking pans etc wherever possible, so i am not a fan of aluminium pods anyway so i don't see plastic pods as a negative.as a coffee drinker i personally highly recommend these pods but i am sure the fanboys of Nespresso will highly disagree with me as will the aluminium snobs in favour of spending ridiculous amounts of money on the genuine Nespresso pods containing (to me anyway) comparable coffee that tastes basically exactly the same as the volluto pods from Nespresso or maybe i just got lucky? with my 2 used boxes and 1 current delicious open box.enjoy ...all the best

These capsules are definitely low priced but that doesn’t mean they’re low on flavour. I use them in a Krups Inissia Nespresso and find that two of the large cup shots give a strong flavoursome brew with a good amount of crema. That said there is no doubt that some of the more expensive varieties of pods I’ve used have superior flavours so it all comes down to how much you want to spend per cup. I bought these on a special offer which worked out at 8p per cup compared to the 30p plus on premium brands so on the whole was very pleased with the purchase. The only issues I have with these pods are that they are plastic therefore non recyclable and on this machine the flow rate through the pod is less than half the rate I get with an aluminium capsule. The machine appears to puncture the pods effectively so I can only assume that the low flow is down to the coffee particle size and / or pressure used to pack them resulting in reduced permeability. I haven’t had any fail in any way but I do wonder if the lower flow rates will cause an increase in wear to the pump in the machine. Would buy again but my preference is for aluminium pods so I buy both and reserve the aluminium capsules for when I want a really good coffee and use the plastic ones for ‘every day’ drinking.

I should first point out that I am using these coffee pods on a second-generation Magi Nespresso machine with the manual clamp, so if you have a newer machine with an automatic clamp your experience may well be different.First, the flavour is nice and strong and not bitter, so the coffee is of decent quality though perhaps not to Nespresso standard obviously this is a personal preference but is reasonably comparable to the ristretto and Arpeggio ones I often buy from Nespresso. Bear in mind that these are less than half the price. I have also tried other flavours they make but these are the best in my opinion.The price of these makes them extremely great value and I now drink these day to day and now only have the original Nespresso Capsules on weekends.These are plastic pods and as such take more pressure to clamp down but I have tried them on 4 different machines and have not found them to have any significant leakage. Being plastic with the coffee inside they are sadly not recyclable so are not as environmentally friendly as the original pods which Nespresso collect and recycles.

I have ordered these many times from Amazon. The price for 100 beats anywhere else. Even Lidl that offer 20 pods for £2.89 can’t compete with this brand that are very good flavour every time.I must have bought at least 1,000 from Amazon by now! I tend to buy them 100 at a time.I did buy the Lungo Intenso once by mistake, they were OK but not as nice.These are consistently good, they work well in my L’or Barrista Sublime machine (I would say that only 1 in 100 are defective) there’s always one!!!Great value and a very good taste. These are more on the medium band than strong but I like them.Every now and then I buy a strong brand for breakfast but these are my ‘go to’ pods.Very happy customer.

These are undoubtedly great value for money. But I think that’s probably where the five star positives end. This is a classic case of you get what you pay for. The taste is good, but it’s only marginally above instant coffee in my opinion. I also had an issue with some capsules not piercing properly in the machine and also some coffee grounds escaping and ending up in the bottom of the cup. Big plus is being plastic. Nothing to stop you removing the foil from both ends, popping the spent coffee in the compost and putting the capsules in the recycling. So that’s a plus. All in all - value 5 taste 3
