Merde Actually

Well written and so funny, I found myself laughing out loud throughout the whole book! If you know a little bit of (the) French and need a good laugh, this book is a must read.

But it is really funny. I could laugh during this adventure. This is not an elaborated or well constructed story, but after a stressing working day everything we need is something to relax and this book really does it.

Stephen Clarke is a genius alive. I was stressed out for not being reading this book. I was laughing at the metro, working, home, everywhere I went I took this book with me. I really enjoyed it. Lost 1000 years of annoying the french when I was half the book, and bought it again. Clarke is simply a man worth having around, an amazing writer, and an incredible storyteller.

Stephen Clarke is really good at teaching you about the "real" France and keeping you entertained at the same time. I love his books.

Merde Actually,like all of Stephen Clarke's other novels, is light and frothy, the kind of book you want to read on a plane or train. The protagonist, Paul, a misplaced and hormonally charged Englishman, is trying to make a living in France. He takes the reader to both venues when the reader might not be able to get there on his own.

Not such an easy subject but treated with friend good humor putting every one at ease with a desire to revisit the country.

Funny, ideal for holidays

Not as many laugh out louds as in the first book, A Year in the Merde, but a good read nevertheless and I will read others by Stephen Clark.
