There is nothing wrong with this fan on how it works. Unfortunately, this was not meant for an average bedroom with average ceilings. The light is very bothersome. I know it says three choices of brightness but they're all still too bright. What I do is I just keep the light off as much as I can. I have a little lamp to the side of me that I use when I'm in the bedroom watching TV. If you have a room with ceilings that are a little bit taller than average this would be the fan for you.
