This thing kept me safe and dry in a hammock during a thunderstorm
I bought this in advance of Boy Scouts summer camp ( I am an adult going with my boys). While we were there, I was laying in my hammock one afternoon and saw a thunderstorm heading my way. I quickly got this out and made an emergency hammock shelter with this and some paracord. It was great and kept me dry and safe as the heavy rain and lightning storm passed right over me. After the storm, as the rain was petering out, I turned it into a pancho and wore it while taking down my hammock and all the paracord. It was a fun experience!

Not as effective as I wanted it to be
I've tried using this poncho multiple times to avoid being caught off guard during a rain storm in the city, but I always managed to get wet. Within five to ten minutes, I could feel the moisture seeping through the material no matter what amount of rain I had to deal with. Any longer than that, It only feels slightly less annoying than wearing nothing at all; I'll still get soaked ,yet it'll take a little more time. Apart from that, it could use some more velcro pieces on the edges to keep the sides together ( Not that it would matter in my case ).

stains and frayed cord but lightweight
Lightweight as advertised but came with snall black and yellow stains. Couldn’t be scrubbed off. Cords on both package and poncho were frayed.

Great poncho - would buy again
Bought this for the car for emergencies. It's light weight and pretty sturdy. There' velcro to pin sides together and I wish there were more than just one tab. Otherwise, this is perfect for what I needed. It would also be good for backpacking because it is so light. I also bought JTENG Waterproof Ripstop Hooded US PVC Camouflage poncho at the same time and that version is much heavier fabric, so not appropriate for backpacking. The heavier fabric might be better in windy situations, but I suspect that if the Ubeone is wet, then it won't flap around too much.
