Title: Huge upgrade from my old router Description: I bought the NETGEAR Nighthawk RS90 to replace the basic router from my internet provider, and the difference was noticeable right away. Setup through the Nighthawk app was pretty straightforward, and I had everything running in about 10 minutes. The Wi-Fi coverage in my home has been excellent so far. I’m getting strong signal in rooms that used to have weak or spotty Wi-Fi with my old router. Streaming, video calls, and regular browsing have all been smooth, even with multiple devices connected at the same time. The router supports Wi-Fi 7 speeds up to about 3.6 Gbps and can handle around 50 connected devices, which is more than enough for a typical household. Another thing I like is the 2.5-gig internet port, which helps take advantage of faster cable or fiber internet plans if you have them. The router also includes built-in security with NETGEAR Armor, which adds some extra peace of mind for all the devices on the network. Overall, if you’re upgrading from an older Wi-Fi 5 or Wi-Fi 6 router, this is a great step up without spending a fortune. It’s fast, reliable, and perfect for streaming, working from home, and running a house full of smart devices. Bottom line: Great performance, easy setup, and a solid upgrade from an old router. Very happy with it so far.

I got this brand since the router we had that gave out was this brand, but it'd lasted us long enough and we were due for a newer and faster router anyway. It appears to be connecting all the devices the old one would connect and does seem a touch faster and not failing like the old one was doing. Using the app on my phone made it easy peasy to set this up and using the protection that came with it notified me every time we added a device and it was scanned to be clear and safe. It's definitely compatible with all the brands of devices we have in the house.

I bought this as open box/used. It was half the price of new. Included everything as a new item would, (original box, instructions, Ethernet cable, AC adapter). The box was a little beat up but the router looked brand new and had the plastic wrap still attached. The ac adapter cord and Ethernet cable were still wrapped in their original twist ties. I'm assuming it was never actually used, just returned. Setup was simple. I hate using my phone to set up routers so I chose the 'no phone' option when I plugged everything into my PC. I was able to manually choose my settings like I prefer through the PC interface. Netgear products have always worked well for me. This one is no exception. I've had a couple drops here and there in the four months I've owned it but at least two of those have been my ISP. So, maybe twice it's dropped signal in that time. To me that's fine. I had read several reviews that reported horrible signal drops and losses. No real problem with that in my case. Firmware updated right out of the box. Not sure if that helped with any signal drop problems but I was happy to see an update right away. I'm in a small efficiency apartment so my signal strength needs aren't huge at the moment. I will say I don't get a total drop in signal unless I'm driving or walking outside around 100 yards away from my building. Netgear, ftw.
