Food gets mixed up in the compartments

It is decent light weight product. Easy to wash and care. However, the food packed in it gets all mixed up as there is lots of space between the cover and container.. haven't had any leak episode but food when carried in a regular bag gets all mixed up in the compartments. And I was hoping there was more steel than plastic used but that's not the case.
