Loved the plot! It felt different from Emily Henry's previous books yet it was perfect blend of literary fiction + romantic comedy. I didn't see the connection between Margaret & someone (cant say who!) Loved her history & passion that Alice had for her work

Not the usual from this author
I love a good Emily Henry novel and I was keen on this for some light reading on my travels. Alas, this was a different kind of story to what we’ve been previously dished out. The complexities of the back story were a bit of a struggle to keep track of, as it was just as important as the romance plot (along with our writers’ own stories, with their friends and families). The actual romance felt both instant and also slow burn. I fully appreciate that she was doing something different to her previous works, but I did find that ending a bit rushed and not entirely satisfactory. I fully understand the comparisons to “Evelyn Hugo” but this tale did have its own underlying plot aside from Margaret’s. That reveal though! I did not see that coming at all.
