Fantastic set
These are excellent binoculars. I can't comment much on price Vs others, but for what you get and the quality I would say they offer great value. You get a really nice, snug, carry case and the binoculars come with a cloth wipes a neck strap and covers for both ends to avoid scratches.Using and setting them up is really easy with the instructions. I'd never set up binoculars for myself before but found this very easy. The magnification seems perfect to me, for bird watching. I can cmsee crystal clear across an entire field, and adjust it so that something much closer is also in focus. They're a nice weight, not too heavy, and they are very comfortable in the hand and adjust lots for different eyes and faces.Overall I'm so pleased with these. I keep them in the car for times where we stop and there's something of interest.

Well-suited for a stroll among the trees
These binoculars are a solid pair—sturdy in the hand, clear through the glass, and dependable even when the weather turns a touch disagreeable. I've taken them out for bird watching and the odd countryside ramble, and they’ve performed quite admirably. The focus is sharp, and the waterproofing gives one peace of mind. Not the fanciest instrument on the shelf, but for the everyday naturalist or traveller, they offer both clarity and comfort. A trustworthy companion for the outdoors.

Excellent viewing
These are very good quality binoculars that are very well made and are great for bird watching. They are soft around the eyes and so comfortable to use for even quite long periods of time. The magnification is superb and they can pick up minute details even from a long way off. They are sturdy, strong and definitely built to last, so just what I was hoping for.

Great binoculars for bird spotting
I got these binoculars because I’ve recently gotten into bird watching - specifically identifying different species by their feather patterns. These have been brilliant so far. The 10x42 magnification hits a nice balance between power and stability, and they’re sharp enough to pick up small colour variations from a fair distance. They seem robust, and the waterproofing has performed well in light rain without clouding. I truly value the cosy eyecups, particularly during extended periods of use. The carrying case and lens caps assist in keeping everything safe and ready to go. For the price, they offer excellent value - great performance without the premium price tag.

Even floating pollen shows up at distance far away
I have not try drowning this in water but from looking at all the seams and material used it does look water proof and built to last. The eye cups feels good against my eye sockets and it does a good job at blocking out distracting light. the image clarity is excellent with the Spikex HD optical system. I get crisp, bright visuals even in low light conditions, such as early morning or at dusk. The fully multi coated lenses and phase coated prisms definitely make a difference in contrast and sharpness. Even floating pollen shows up at distance far away. The 10 times magnification strikes a good balance. It brings subjects close without too much hand shake, and the wide field of view makes tracking fast moving birds much easier. These binoculars feel solid in the hand and are fully waterproof and fog proof thanks to the nitrogen filled design. I used them in light rain and damp conditions without any issue, and they still performed flawlessly. The IPX7 rating gives peace of mind if you are often outdoors in unpredictable weather. For the price, these binoculars deliver excellent value.

Outstanding Value-for-Money
For wildlife viewing, a magnification of 8 to 10 & an objective lens of 32 to 42mm is generally regarded as ideal, & these Hontry 8101 Series Roof Prim Binoculars provide the maximum magnification & object lens size of that range; a large objective lens size produces a brighter image, though other factors such as lens materials & coating can also affect brightness. Traditional Porro prism binoculars, where the objective lenses sits outside of the line of the eyepieces, used to provide clearer, sharper images, but were bulky & heavy in comparison to Roof prism binoculars (where the eyepieces & objective lenses are in line, but that is no longer the case, & most of the best designs are now of the Roof prism type, such as we have here from Hontry. Unfortunately, the excellent quality of modern, compact, lightweight Roof prism binoculars comes at extra cost, but they tend to be more durable, & waterproof, as well as providing better image quality. The build quality of these Hontry 8101 Series Roof Prim Binoculars seemed to me to be excellent. They were comfortable to hold, not heavy & the main focus adjustment was easy. I found the dioptre adjustment (for the right eye) more difficult to locate with my fingers when the binoculars were in use, but that should only require setting once if you are the only user of the binoculars (as it sets any difference between the eyesight of each of your eyes, which can be expected to remain fairly constant). The external finish on the 2 ‘barrels of the binoculars provides a firm grip, so they are unlikely to fall from your hands. These Hontry binoculars come with a moderately smart lined waterproof carry case, with shoulder strap, a neck strap for the binoculars themselves, which can be passed through the eye lens caps (to ensure that they cannot get lost, flip-down object lens caps which retain the caps attached to the binocular body, & lens-cleaning cloth included. The binoculars are not tripod-mountable. They have a 3-year warranty in any country in which Amazon sells them.I have seen these Hontry 8101 Series Roof Prim Binoculars advertised elsewhere, with an RRP of £192.17, discounted 40% to £115.30, for delivery 1 to 2 weeks hence. And those prices are not out of line with what many of the other quality brands of 10X42 Roof prism binoculars now on offering. I had not heard of the Hontry brand before (made in China), but the specification of their 8101 Series binoculars closely matches very closely other current leading brands: magnification & objective lens size, IPX7 nitrogen-filled, BAK 4 prisms, etc. They certainly outperform several older pairs of binoculars, large & small, that I have from leading camera manufacturers.I recommend these Hontry 8101 Series Roof Prim Binoculars as being of outstandingly good quality at their £69.99 price on Amazon at the time of my order. Even better if you get & use the £15 voucher!
