Birds are gone alright!
I started using this to rid birds on a cell tower next to my shop that made a MESS everywhere!! It seemed to not work very well at first but after 2 weeks I guess the birds got sick and tired of the noise and have not had to use it again!!! Worked like a charm!!!

It doesn't scare birds away. Birds simply ignore the sounds from this device.
The speaker works just as described, it makes all kinds of bird noises and it is very loud BUT it doesn't scare the birds away. After 6 months of use on my backyard I still have a bad case of birds sitting and pooping from a tree into my patio deck which makes it impossible to use. The device is priced very high which led me to believe that it would be the solution to my bird problem, but after trying different settings, volume levels etc, the birds don't care about the sounds the device emits. I installed the box a couple feet away from the tree and the doves and pigeons still land on the tree and relief themselves and sleep on the tree at night.Waste of money, doesn't scare birds away.

Good for the $ but a dog works better !
Works good most of the time but some birds get use to it and hang around . But only a couple instead 20 or more that decide to live on our grass in the back yard . Canadian geese ! It needs to be reset just about every week or it stops working no big deal if your around an can do it . This is my second one the first one lasted 13 months. Easer than owning a dog .

BUY IT! It really works!!!š
I live in Phoenix Az and we had a pigeon problem since my stupid neighbors began feeding them next door. We have a pool with beach entry and the pigeons used it as a bird bath. Anyhow I ordered this bird super sonic device and set for daytime and pigeon setting and in the first hour pigeons were gone. However being that they are homing pigeons they did not go far and as soon as I turned it off they cautiously returned. So next day I turned it on again and set it along rear fence walk facing my house and angled slighty at about 30 degree angle, not sure if it made a difference, but wanted the sound to be directed toward the roof. Anyhow, i kept it plugged in and on for a few days and the birds moved to a house 2 streets behind us. I went ahead and left it on for a full month and believe it or not there are no pigeon anywhere within my neighborhood of around at least 1/4 mile. No joke guys!!! We had a new roof installed and I did not want these rats pooping om my new concrete tile so this is why I bought it. One of my neighbors did complain about the noise cause it spooked his dog but this was the same dumb Johnny Apple Seed $@!#% who was feeding the pigeons in the first place so I told him to STFU. Anyhow it also attracted some real hawks which may have actually helped. It has been about 10 months since the pigeon left and they are still gone. The other reviewers must not be allowing this time to work. It really does. I will try and load pics of my roof and neighborhood to show that there are no pigeons anymore. We do have crows but they don't bother me at all.I could use the crow setting if they did. I recommend this unit 100%. Just be sure to place in shade or the plastic clear cover will yellow slightly. No biggie it still works. I will keep and if those pigeons ever return I will plug it in again. But I don't think they will ever be back. Yes!!!!

Works, But Could Be Better
We have issues with woodpeckers on our house. This product looked like a good solution. The "Woodpecker" setting emits a series of sounds that do deter the birds from pecking on our wood siding, but there are some issues.First, one would expect to see woodpeckers in wooded, rural areas, which is where we live. Our area is also prone to infrequent power outages due to a lot of above-ground electrial wires, winds, snow, ice, etc. Problem here is that the system does not hold its settings in a power outage and remains silent when the power returns. This could have been avoided with the use of a different chip that did not lose its settings during a power outage.Second, although you can adjust the volume of the main unit, the volume on any add-on speakers cannot be adjusted and is set to "High", very high. Why could not a simple volume knob have been added to the add-on speakers?Third, rain blew into one of the add-on speakers and then froze causing this speaker to fail. It now just barely emits any sound so I'll have to purchase a replacement. One would think that speakers that are designed to be used outdoors would be more weatherproof.Overall the system is helping to keep the woodpeckers at bay, but this could have gotten 5 stars with just a few improvements.

Doesn't work for Geese
Not great for Geese - which is why I purchased it - perhaps it is better with other nuisance items - but the Geese literally go up to this thing and one pair of Geese tried to build a nest next to it - I am suffering trying to get the geese away before they nest and I can't move them. I gave this 2 stars cause it does do what it says and seems well made - but for Geese it does not work.

equipment failure
I suppose everyone's experience will be different depending on a host of factors. I live on 20 acres in WA state and have barn swallows (repeat customers) that insist on nesting on the ledge above the living room windows. This year I was determined not to have the side of the house messed up but didn't have time for hand to beak so I got this machine to play while I was away. The first response was from the teenagers and wife, "Do we have to listen to that?" But it did appear to work - for about 2 weeks. I liken it to a Gary Larson cartoon with the birds saying, "This is going to be fun, he's got one of those stupid bird-call machines." It was soon apparent it had little effect on the swallows so I shut it off. While waiting for the ferry to go to work one morning I became much more interested than usual in the thin wire they string above all railings. I went home and did the same above the windows. End of problem.
