I hope you never need this product, but for me it’s a savior. I have a reoccurrence of Oral Mucositis/Radiation Recall that recently landed me in the hospital. I had difficulty swallowing and was on a purée/liquid then weaned on to final chopped, moist food for when I was sent home.Unfortunately, I was unable to swallow even those tiny bits of food and was living on baby oatmeal, yogurt, soft eggs and protein shakes.A friend suggested these and figured why not. I guess they taste good, but more importantly, I add 8oz strong homemade chicken broth (stuff is thick and just a tad gritty) and warm it in the microwave and it goes down just fine and they are kind of filling. It has most of the nutrients I need, plus lots of minerals and vitamins.Good luck to everyone who needs this product.

I am really pleased with this product. It is soooo important for people who are feeding by tube to know that there are far healthier alternatives to use than what the modern medical establishment currently pumps into our loved ones as food. My mother recently had to start using a feeding tube while in the hospital, and let me tell you it was painful watching them continuously pump Jevity (some synthetic, over processed, over chemicalized food tube formula) into her system. I was so vulnerable, as I didn't know anything about tube feeding or what people should be eating while using a tube. While my mother was on Jevity I saw her pain continuously increase. She began to moan more than she had been before using it. I believe very much in nutrition and knew that the Jevity formula was not going to get my mother to thrive.I immediately began to do research about natural tube formulas and came across two -- Liquid Hope and Real Food Blends. Well Liquid Hope is quite a bit out of my price range, but Real Food Blends is not. Thank goodness for my mother's doctor, as he also believes strongly in nutrition and in taking a holistic approach to healing. He looked at the formula and gave his approval for using it. I'm so glad that he did. It feels really great knowing that there is a much better alternative to that Jevity crap. My mother's pain has subsided quite a bit. I add quite a few nutritional elements to this, but it just feels great knowing that I have a good base, a much better alternative to formulas such as Jevity.I have vacillated and forth as to whether or not I should give this 4 stars or 5. I was considering 4 stars because I have just started using the product and I wish they would create a no sodium formula (although the salt content isn't very high). But I decided to go for five stars because it is imperative for those who are on feeding tubes to know that hope abounds and that there are formulas out there that are natural and holistic. We must challenge the modern medical paradigm and demand that the medical system incorporate holistic nutrition into every aspect of health, including what is put into those tubes, whether intravenously or by feeding tube.My hope is that more companies will be established that will also create holistic, nutritional formulas for people on feeding tubes. It feels incredible knowing that I am giving my mother a formula that isn't loaded with sugar and garbage and whereby I can recognize the ingredients as healthy food.I am very thankful for this company and the few others like this (actually, I only know of two, but I hope there are more of them out there).My goal is for my mother to completely heal. I can't wait to update this review about her progress.

The turkey product often has large carrots that must be strained out or get caught in the feeding tube.

If you have a loved one newly put on a PEG tube, please pay close attention.This product is literally a lifesaver. I have been caring for my mom and this has made her adjustment to feeding tube life much better. She has been on a feeding tube for over a year now and is finally thriving.After a fall She was initially placed on the hospital type tube feed and was losing weight dramatically. Her entire body weight was 79 pounds and we thought she was dying. It turned out that her body could not process the hospital administered formula type feed and she was failing to thrive.Since starting her on real food blends my mom has made a complete turnaround. Her hair has started to grow and shine, it was very thin and falling out. Her energy has returned and she is up and walking instead of laying in bed.When my mom was initially put on the feeding tube and was not doing well, I was desperate. She was in a nursing facility and initially put on the feeding tube formula in the upside down bottle and was not doing well. She was in a nursing facility and they would not allow me to provide homemade feeding tube formula. I ended up having her discharged to home. I spent a long time researching using real food in tube feedings and found this product. I add it to freshly prepared homemade food at home and she has gained 25 pounds and is doing better.She ended up having to go back into a nursing rehab facility after a heart attack. I got permission from the medical director and the nutritionist to use the real food blends administered by the nursing staff while she was a patient there for three months. I think that this is the only reason she is still alive. She is back home again and has gotten another Christmas to spend with her granddaughter and family.You do not have to use the hospital type food at home. Many elderly needlessly suffer from all of the unwanted side effects of the hospital type feeding tube formula. There is a better way to do this and your loved one can live a satisfying life, even if they can no longer eat by mouth.I am very, very grateful for this product.

Beef product clogs up the tube completely unless diluted 2 parts water to one part food package. Total fail. Standard G tube. Certainly not better than making homemade. Not believing these 5 star reviews. Should spend money on powerful blender instead. Beware.
