Smartwool Merino 150 Beanie

Great ultralight wool beanie. Good quality as you’d expect for the price from Smartwool. None of their stuff is cheap, but it’s just enough for Spring/early Fall, and absolutely disappears in a pocket when you’re not using it.

This beanie is awesome for cool to cold climates! I was in a breezy warehouse and this made all the difference. Covers my ears without being too big and bulky! Easily tossed it in my pocket.

I use this for winter runs and it is fabulous. It is very light on my head and extremely breathable. It absorbed my perspiration well and dried fast. They look great and stay on your head nicely snug, not too tight but not too loose as well. Very comfortable and soft.

Great for under the helmet. Provides a little bit of comfort and warmth on colder days skiing. Does not look very good by itself though. I was hoping for a lighter hat for days that are just cold enough for a beanie but not cold enough for a thick one. Could just be that I’m not cool enough to pull it off in fairness.

Pros: Nice fit, warm, soft, fits in pockets without being annoying.Cons: Delicate, mine has a small tear in the back after I wore it with my bike helmet.One year update: Still going strong after a lot of hikin and bikin no more tears or tearing, love this pocket hat.

I wear it around the house in winter time & the amount of warmth it provides is perfect, also wear it under another thicker wool beany or other hat when needed for an added layer of insulation.Deducted two stars because this color (grey) shows sweat & other stains easily & I haven't been able yet to remove them completely, and because the hat is so thin & small they're too easy to lose track of, & for that price they're not something I want to lose, I would rather have a wool blend to make it bulkier (maybe I should have gotten neon green or something : )

lovely lightweight soft layer for every day use.If you don't want to over do it with heavy fleece (polartec), this is just right.
