Simple, works perfectly
A must for serious condenser mics. Small, simple, does exactly what it should for almost no money. The extra cable is a nice touch.

it does as written. supplies 48V of phantom power
I did check the voltage of the input connection using a voltage meter. it was around 47.6 (nearly 48V) which is acceptable. But I must say if you are planning to buy this make sure the adapter is suitable for your region before purchasing. I didn't and had to buy a step-down transformer. the adapter input is 110V (AC). The adapter output is 18V (AC) and 350mA. I could have bought a normal adapter instead of a transformer. but I couldn't find an adapter that outputs AC current. as for the polarity, it's center-positive.i meant to use this to power up a condenser microphone and then connect it to my PC. at first, after plugging in my condenser microphone I couldn't hear a thing. i thought that maybe my microphone was defective. but after installing an Audio mixer software and manipulating the gain. my Voice is Clear and Well heard. i didn't encounter any buzzing sound like most of the people in the comment section. i think the buzzing sound issue might be related to loose connections or a bad audio jack. Overall I'm satisfied.

Made all the difference with the AK-80 I bought a week prior.
I bought the Aokeo AK-80 a week earlier than this to use for podcasting. I have a Realtek HD soundcard in my computer, so I knew it had enough voltage to run the microphone without a power supply. I was right, but I had to have the boost turned up to 30dcb to hear anything which killed audio quality a little bit and gave a high pitching ringing in the recording. Mind you, this was all still LOADS better than the USB cardioid mic I bought at Walmart that picked up my mouse, my keyboard, my daughter, the TV, my neighbors dog, the traffic light crosswalk beep, you get the point. I decided to add the power supply because why not, it's another $12. It made a world of difference, no more boost, no more ringing, better response to my soundcards settings especially noise suppression. Overall I'd say for podcasting this power supply and microphone are the best low cost, entry-level options out there. Nothing else I've tried even comes close to these two as far as audio quality and background noise reduction go.

Excellent powerful unit for condenser mic recording
Nice and powerful small ghost power rig I use for an AKG condenser mic to record vocals. Have had it four years now and going strong.

Made out of plastic!
Made out of cheap plastic. The included xlr is better quality than the unit. It works tho, I just wouldn’t recommend if for traveling musicians.

It's not 48 Volts . It's 18 Volts !
Now this is an odd thing . Why did I buy this 4 times ? Why did it never quite work ... Well I finally discovered that this NOT the 48V required for phantom power for condenser mic s . Yes. Some of the small condenser mics can deal with it.l, I suppose. ... But this little piece of negligence has caused me a lot of heart ache .. It is 18 volts ! And now I see its just about tripled its price.
