Dog Science Unleashed: Fun Activities to do with your Canine Companion (National Geographic Kids)

I bought this for a friend’s daughter who was turning 12. It is excellent for its content and the photos. The projects/experiments are clearly spelled out. While browsing through the book I learned a couple of new things too. National Geographic did this one well.

As a parent, I love that this book is engaging and fun and includes experiments my kids actually WANT to do. I also love that they can do them on their own without me, unlike many books’ messy science experiments! As a teacher, I love that kids are getting valuable experience with the scientific method and concepts like validity and reliability throughout the book (but not in a heavy handed way.) This would be a great gift choice!

The experiments are a nice combination of science and dog information and knowledge.

Amazing! This is right on-target for children with even a passing interest in dogs! It encourages children to see themselves as scientists in an exciting and easy-to-do experiments. Beautiful illustrations, clever writing, and engaging layout. Super excited to try every single one!

So much fun! A generous amount of science information is smoothly integrated into the activities and delivered in entertaining language, and the activities themselves are clearly explained. Excellent photos demonstrate the activities with diverse child models and a variety of dog breeds.

A great science book for dog lovers who want to learn more about their best furry friend. Full of fun scientific facts from how a dog drinks to whether they recognize themselves in a mirror.

What an amazing book. Great for fans of anyone who loves dogs and anyone who wants to learn more about them.
