PlayStation4 Pro 500 Million Limited Edition

Having had a PS4 from Day 1, I never saw the appeal of a PS4 Pro (it didn't even offer 4K UHD disc support, and this PS4 Pro does not do it either). However, all that changed when I saw this beauty. I knew I had to get it and I was so pleased I did. I am not reviewing PS4 Pro in itself, but reviewing this particular LE. It looks amazing and I haven't yet taken out the plastic from all sides. Just the side where the disc goes and where all the ports are - the sides are still covered in its original wrapping. This is because its glossy finish is a fingerprint magnet and it'll break my heart to see it that way. I love the light-up function when turning the console on / off and during play. For £449 it is great value considering it comes with a vertical stand, camera, and 2TB storage. I sold my old PS4 which partly helped fund this beauty. I hope they release something similar when it is time for PS5 Pro (with 2 graphics card and hopefully 5TB storage - wishful thinking, ha!)

So Sony has released a fair few variations of the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro now and there still more to come I.e Spiderman but this one was a bit special just like the 20th anniversary edition seen as both are very limited. I thankfully managed to secure one and I'm probably one a of the few who will actually use it, this is now my primary ps4 because it's to stunning to leave sealed. Sadly many who got their mits on these are now selling it on ebay for upto and over 1k and theres been a bit of an up roar how Sony handled the preorders. Personally though if you love PlayStation and have deep pockets this console is just pure filth.The fact this is such a limited console it was nice that for £450 it came with a 2tb hdd and a camera in the one off blue plus a stand. In runs pretty quite and looks amazing but other than that it makes no difference to ya gaming it really is just a collector's item.For those that missed out and now have £450 burning a hole i would look at the ps4 pro Spiderman edition which is also cheaper and looks pretty awesome, or just go down the pub and drink ya sorrows away.

Long story short, this is just like your regular PS4 Pro, but with a 2TB HDD upgrade and a cosmetic makeover.The console looks much better in person; it's a really nice dark blue colour that's of course transparent, so you can see the internals; it has copper, brushed metal emblems and a thin plaque with the limited edition number i.e: '12000 / 50000'. When powered up, it seems to glow a bit more the front where the LED strip is; enough for it to look fancy but not too much that it's distracting.Annoyingly, this is a very limited edition and people are of course selling them for a huge inflated price; I think this whole campaign was a big slap in the face to the fans rather than a "thank you" as originally intended. In my personal opinion, they should release another batch as standard, just remove the numbered plaque so that the first batch still remain special, whilst giving more fans an opportunity to get their hands on this gorgeous looking PS4.One thing to note though, this PS4 is a DUST MAGNET! It looks lovely, much better than Playstation 4 pro, a shame it does not have extra features so i guess this is more for collectors.

By far the best limited edition console Sony have ever done. The translucent design is really cool, the controller, cam, stand, and earpiece to match are a nice touch...The copper plaque on the front with the number is classy, and shows that you are the one of select 50k that made the cut.Just to clarify to the 1star review... Sony did actually annouce when the pre order was available well in advance, and it was rightly so a first come first serve, because 50k worldwide is nothing. If you were on the ball, you would've secured it from one of the 7+ retailers that were selling it. Amazon nearly screwed me after securing a pre order on the 14th, for them to then cancel all orders and reschedule for the 15th due to the fact they didn't restrict it to 1 per person and released it 3hrs early, so I do feel for those who got one on the 14th, but failed on the 15th.

This looks better in the pictures than it actually is. Only 2/3 of the front panel glows so it would look very odd if you don't want to put it on the vertical stand. The colour is disappointing as it is dark blue & they have not bothered to light up the internals at all. I used cotton gloves to handle mine yet it is still covered in dust and there are loads of manufacturing faint scratches on it. Do not buy if you are at all discerning about condition. It scratches just by dusting it and there have been many reports of coil whine. A poorly executed release that was more hype than the console could live up to. Not recommended.

This playstation console is a very unique piece of kit, the dark blue really does set it off and the 2tb hard drive really does make a big difference. Although the console is blue it is also transparent as well as the controller so you can see all the components doing its work. The only negative thing i can say about the console is that it is a finger print magnet so if your a picky like me you will probably have to wipe it after every use, hope this helps :)
