I have tried this vitamin and the vitamin D from this brand and I don't know how but I have felt the difference with others. This one feels of good quality. Easy to take and doesn't upset my stomach.

I've started using Puritan Pride Calcium Ascorbate 500mg tablets over 20 years ago. They kept putting them in smaller and smaller bottles until the real estate in my supplement cabinet could not handle the space. So, I turned to largge bottles of NOW Calcium Ascorbate which I truly appreciate. My husband and I take a total of 4-6 a day with each dog getting one a day. The calcium buffers the acid from the C, and I've never had stomach problems using this. I up my usage and take stinky garlic oil capsules when I have a cold, and I'm convinced it helps. I'm not one that cares if its the placebo effect. If I feel better and recuperate more quickly, that's goal. When I'm using it to fight a cold, I know I've taken enough when my urine turns yellow and too much if I get the runs.I'm convinced it prevents me from bruising and helps to mitigate my muscle pain from over exercising. Lastly, I believe it's heart healthy contributing to the pliability of my veins and arteries. For the latter, I take this and tumeric daily.Yes, I've read one of Linus Pauling's books and tend to take the statistical analysis and conclusions of a Nobel prize winning, superb physicist over exhausted, overworked, sleep deprived ( in the case of interns and residents) distressed, brainwashed physicians... any day. I'd like to see medical studies set up by and directed (especially in relation to conclusions) by physicists or mathematicians who were not being paid by the pharmaceutical industry whose product they are investigating. I think the people would receive much more accurate information should this be the case.

I switched to this from regular vitamin c because I was getting heartburn. No heartburn at all with this, even if I take two. Great price, love Now brand.

This is a lifesaver for anyone who needs to supplement with vitamin C while taking a time-released medication. I’m a picky eater and I knew I needed a vitamin C supplement, but I found out that “normal” vitamin C (as ascorbic acid) causes your stomach to be more acidic. Essentially, ascorbic acid forces extended release medications to be broken down and excreted from your body much faster, meaning they either aren’t fully absorbed or the effects wear off more quickly.Before I found out about this product, I was taking vitamin C as ascorbic acid and noticing that my medication would seem to wear off really quickly. Since this is a buffered form, it isn’t acidic and won’t cause the same issues, which has finally allowed me to get the vitamin C I need without having to sacrifice the effectiveness of my meds.
