Great product
QR dropouts are outdated and they are awfully designed. My 2022 Trek Marlin MTB unfortunately has QR hubs so that you don't feel satisfied and buy their more expensive bikes eventually. The cam skewers are either too loose or too tight, very difficult to find the right pressure. This skewer makes it a lot easier to find the right amount of force.

must-have this skewer
Who knew I could love a skewer so much? I had almost constant problems with my rear tire falling out of alignment when riding on the crushed limestone trails in my area. It would suddenly rub against one side, I'd have to get off, realign, get back on.... rinse and repeat. I wish I had researched this issue earlier. A new skewer - one that's really secure and easy to hatchet - and I'm cruising down the trails. This was my first ratcheting skewer, but I found a youtube video that assured me I was doing it right :) It was really easy to install and is just as secure as promised.

Good option for really clamping your wheel in place
I bought this to use on a bike with a Rohloff hub and horizontal dropouts. The Rohloff has a quick-release axle, which would work better in vertical or semi-vertical dropouts. That's because the Rohloff needs a tight chain to operate, and there is usually nothing to take up any slack. (You can add a tensioner.) Add in the tendency of hubs held in with QRs to "creep" forward (the chain wants to pull them that way) and you can have issues. Using this QR and a Surly chaintug worked well. These work just like a small ratchet wrench. You tighten, pop the handle up (spring loaded) rotate counterclockwise, release and tighten some more. It's very easy to overdo it (see other comments for a guy who broke two hubs) so take it easy to start with. Another plus is the handle can end up pointing whenever you want it - not always possible with QRs and some dropouts

Solid interface, great fit and finish, easy to tighten and align.
I had read these would stiffen up the front (and rear) end of my bike. I don't know if they did or not, but it does feel just fine. The construction is excellent. It's easier to get the clamping force I want than it is with a quick release. I would like it if they also had some hex interface so I could use a torque wrench, but I'm happy enough I'll be keeping these.

Works well until it doesn't
Have had 4 of these. Two failed with one handle breaking and seemingly becoming unglued and another stripping the threads when tightening it. Current one doesn't maintain tightness and has shifted my hub several times. Can't recommend for horizontal dropouts. YMMV.

Best Skewer Design
The special ratcheting handle system is what sets this DT Swiss RWS skewer apart from any other skewer that is available on the market. If you are familiar with Thru-axel systems (as used on forks) then you would understand the benefits of this DT Swiss skewer. No more having to worry about the deterioration of the rubber grommet found in every other quick release wheel skewer plus, it is super easy to position the handle into whatever position you like, even after having completely tightened the skewer into place. This was one of my pet peeves when it came to traditional wheel skewers because it took extra time to position the clamp down handle into the correct position each time. The DT Swiss RWS skewer just makes more sense.

The only skewer you need to use
If you are running traditional skewers, even expensive ones, toss them and buy a set of these DT Swiss RWS skewers. All the clamping force of TA but the simplicity of skewers for keeping it all in one place. These clamp like nobodys business! If you bike suffers from loose stretched skewers this is the fix.

Tight
You can get this pretty tight compared to a regular lever skewer. I purchased this bc I needed extra tension bc it seems that my axle is moving inside my dropouts causing wear. This did not exactly help my issue but as a skewer itself it is quality and well designed.
