Worked great for what I needed them for. Used it it on aluminum siding to hang a ring light near the peak of my garage. It fit great and tied it all together.

Used to replace smaller block and wiring box for an upgraded exterior light on our deck. The product was delivered next day with all parts in new condition. The block is a sturdy, paintable polymer that mounted easily and provides a stable foundation for the carriage light I installed. Instructions included are well written and easy to follow. The siding cut outs aligned nicely with the 1/2" X 4" vinyl siding on our home. I used exterior silicone caulk to ensure a watertight seal against the house and around the base of the light. Once the old block and box were removed it took me about 10 minutes to install the new block/junction box combo and another 20 minutes to wire up/install the light and caulk the joints. While it may seem pricey, the quality, integrated junction box, ease of installation and finished appearance make it worth your consideration...I am very satisfied with the purchase. I may paint the block to match the siding but it looks just fine as is (see pictures).

Of course your want some caulk around it to do the job right, but, it looks good and works great. If I had a complaint, it is that the holes to mount whatever your light fixture to are not recessed so of your fixture is flush mount, you may have a small gap requiring you to caulk around it. But, that's minor for me at least, I'm glad to have a camera floodlight now outside my garage!

This plastic mounting block is way overpriced, and the screws that come with it to connect a metal bracket for a lighting fixture are too long and will bottom out before the bracket is tightly secured to the mounting block. The installer will need to provide and use washers to get a secure fit. The product's color designation is "white"; but that is certainly debatable. The instructions are about par for the point of manufacture when something does not fix or work exactly: this particular manufacturer informs the consumer that "it doesn't matter," and suggests how to accommodate the deficiency. I have seen much too much of this lately, such as in the typical expression "Please do not mind." It is for the consumer to determine what does and does not matter and for the manufacturer to be mindful of that basic tenet. Moreover, a polite "please" simply acknowledges that the manufacturer is fully cognizant that it has done or made something problematic. Saying that something does not matter does not reify the deficiency as actually being acceptable. The product's instructions in English show a blatant misunderstanding of the usage of verb tense and verbal auxiliaries, as in the following: "You can placed (sic) some caulking and then painted (sic) the blocks and molding." One of the illustrations in the directions (figure 4) is incomprehensible. I will not speak for the directions in Spanish, but someone qualified should do so. Given the price of this product, those who make it and distribute it should be able to afford adequate translators to develop the instructions.
