No fertilizer necessary. It thrives fine even on poor soil. And fine even in the summer when there is less water.

Q: Will this attract bugs if planted indoors?

I know your question was 4 years ago but I grow this indoor for my bearded dragon. As usual, moost dirt attracts nats but a little neem oil amd you are good.

Q: do you have to scratch it in or just throw it around,and is Sept. in New England a good time to plant?
