Can i use this as a regular tire pressure gauge when i don't need to air down? or do i have to remove the valve core for it to measure tire pressure?

You can but you would need to insure you depressed the valve stem or remove it. I would suggest that would not be a practical use and use an inexpensive air gauge. In a real pinch sure you could use it.

How do you put the valve stem back in? Is it all done with deflator?

1) Screw the deflator on your stem. 2)Push the top of the brass knob down and twist counter-clockwise (you will feel it catch) until the air flows and the know pushes out. 3) Pull the widest part of the brass away from the valve and let the air flow! 4) Push the widest part of the brass towards the valve to check pressure periodically. 5) Once desired pressure is reached reverse appropriate steps above. FYI. Store this item with the hose as straight as possible. If stored in the provided pouch the hose will become compromised and leak over time. I found a spring to install over the end towards the gauge to assist in this.

Does this allow you to set a PSI and walk away, or do you have to watch it while it deflates?

Is it recommended to unscrew the cores out, does this cause premaure wear on the cores?

Simply put no. The cores are threaded like anything else. The whole point of this deflator is that it takes the core out and holds it internally so that no dirt can get in thereby maximizing air flow to deflate as quickly as possible

The product was changed as the paper instructions guide inside were the correct ones as well torne and dirty, the cover was dirty with a foot print on it and the pressure gauge was from the same brand but a different model
