Excellent game regardless of the lack of steelbook
Yes, as with everyone who ordered this edition, I also did not receive my steelbook. It's a shame that this mess-up from Amazon (or whomever supplied the edition to them) is detracting from the pure excellence and quality of this game. The game is absolutely packed with content. There are so many levels and characters and collectables that both life-long Smash fans and newcomers can appreciate - something for everyone. The visuals and music are breathtaking and the Switch handles the game beautifully - even the intense 8 player battles! I highly recommend this game and look forward to spending hours unlocking all the characters and content. In terms of the steelbook, I recommend you contact Amazon customer service. My Amazon advisor apologised for the mistake and refunded me the cost of the steelbook, which can be purchased separately for £10.

Great game!!
Really awesome game! Well worth the purchase, a lot of awesome content and the ability to use GameCube controllers is a really big bonus! Though Amazon promised and still states in the description that a Steelbook was meant to be included. I have since contacted them about the issue, but I do feel that if the Steelbook was falsely advertised then something seriously needs to be done about it. Edit: Contacted Amazon and they sorted it out with me. I suggest if you also haven't received the Steelbook, you just contact customer services and they should be happy to help! :)

Best Smash yet! But...
TL;DR (Too Long, Didn't Read) at bottom Smash Bros Ultimate lives up to its name; the most fighters there have ever been, an incredible amount of stages to fight on and so much music that it's bound to make any Nintendo fan's head spin. Gameplay is fun and frantic, easy enough for a beginner but complex enough for the masters. The game features a story mode of sorts, based on the new feature; Spirits. The player must traverse a beautifully drawn map (literally a map) and defeat evil clones of the playable characters, each empowered by one or more Spirits that grant the user differing abilities in combat - this is true of the player, however and you must also gather a team of Spirits and swap them in-and-out to find the best match for the current opponent. The story mode features beautiful HD cutscenes that, whilst not having much in the way of narrative force, do just enough to sell the urgency of the story. The ability to create Mii characters returns from the previous entry in the series and is every bit as incredible - whilst some costumes have, unfortunately, been left out since their previous entry, new costumes take their place and are creative and different enough to warrant collecting. Mii characters can be made as either a Brawler, Swordfighter and Gunner - each having three different attacks for each of the four specials, leading to a vast amount of customisability. Speaking of customisability, the ability to alter certain attacks of the non Mii fighters is missing - in the previous entry, the four Special attacks could be customised on each and every playable character, save for the ones introduced in DLC. At the time of writing this review, it is unknown if this method of customisation will be added back in. Also missing from the previous entry is the much-beloved Stage Builder, which would, as the name suggests, allow players to create their own unique stages with which to battle on. However, rumours are circulating that this will be added in as an update sometime in the future. Trophies, a massive part of the Smash formula, are also missing - having been repalced with the aforementioned Spirits, are sorely missed by myself and others within my friend circle. The most greivous loss in regards to Trophies is the exclusion of precious Lore about the matter of each Trophy, its character, its series, etc... A few other modes, such as the famous Home-run Contest, is also missing - however, like the Stage Builder, these may return in due time. You may find these missing elements daunting and disappointing, especially if you've enjoyed previous entries, however I assure you that whilst they DO lower the score of the game in my opinion, these missing elements are not enough to detract from the overall experience. Smash Ultimate really is the best in the series yet - and is an incredible, fun and exciting game for up to eight people to play together. TL;DR Best in the series, is missing major elements that may return, but they don't ruin the overall experience. THe game is bursting with content, despite that and is great fun for up to eight players.

This is a cursed bundle
Firstly, this edition of Smash Bros is fantastic! Alot of fun, no doubt will binge on it for many many hours! 2 Stars because this bundle originally included a steelbook, pretty common fault as you'll probably see. Mine went one further where the controller was defective as well, A button would register as pressing B Have since plugged a dusty old one I had and it works fine so its clearly the new controller having issues Probably better off buying the bits individually, might have better luck that way!

Great game, nicely presented box but no steelbook.
The game is great, but I could have sworn this was supposed to come with a steel book case, which is missing. I've gone back to look at the description and nowhere does it say steelbook included. I could have sworn it did when I pre-ordered it earlier in the year though.

No steelbook EDIT Amazon offering free steelbooks
EDIT: Put up my 1 star review below, and two days later Amazon come back offering a code to redeem a free steelbook. Don't know if this is being pushed by Nintendo or if it's Amazon working on it's own initiative, but it's great to see the issue addressed in a satisfactory manner. Glad to now be able to give this game the 5 stars it deserves. ORIGINAL REVIEW: To tell the truth, I don't really miss the steelbook much myself. I bought the bundle for the game, controller and adapter, the steelbook was just an extra bonus (that probably would have sat in a box somewhere never being looked at). Regardless of how I feel though, Nintendo shouldn't get away with pulling a Bethesda in this case. Advertising one thing then selling another (or even changing it at the 11th hour, even if you do lower the price) is not acceptable. If there are supply issues then delay the item, people will understand. But if you just pull the product completely of course people will be upset. Nintendo normally gets a pass for some of the stupid things it does because of the quality of their games, but unfortunately in this case I can't in good conscience leave anything other than a 1 star review no matter how much I love the game.

Phenomenal
If you already own a switch this is version I’d recommend as it comes with the game and a game cube controller. Also the box it all comes in is beautiful and is sitting in my room like art. I’m sad the didn’t put more into it like the steel case or pro controller but the pro controller is understandable. Over all would recommend because the game is never ending fun for family, friends, or by your self.
