Amazing
I bought this more out of curiosity than anything really and I am gob smacked. As a trombonist of around 30 years I thought "this is gonna be naff" but I had also seen some very interesting videos on YouTube by Jiggs Whigham and other noteaable musos. How wrong was I? Incredibly light, plays lovely looks ace and costs as much as a decent mouthpiece. The slide was slightly rough to start with, but after a good couple of hours playing (and regular wiping with a cloth), it has played in and is very smooth. Incredible!! My only niggle is the zips on the gig bag feel like they will last about 10 minutes, after so much effort going into the quality of this instrument I would have expected a little more. But for the incredible price, you are getting a wonderful trombone. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Amazing sound for the price
I got the P-Bone for my teenage daughter who was reluctant to be seen at school with a standard trombone. She loved the funky colours available and went for the black, also loved the fact it is so light it's no trouble to carry it round school all day. She is now playing Grade 4-5 pieces on it easily. It has a much quieter sound than the standard brass trombone (the neighbours love it and the teacher tells her to play louder). The slide was very "raspy" at first although it moves easily but this is improving the more she plays it. Perfect for reluctant teens, fashionistas and those who play a lot outside! We have heard horror stories about P-Bones cracking if dropped, but this one has survived so far!! Does need regular slide maintenance though, just like the brass instruments. Great fun, great tone and got one teenager playing again so can't be bad.

Really quite good!
I'm in no doubt that this is a pretty decent instrument by any measure, and wonderful for the money. Not a covetable object like a shiny brass tenor, but plays nicely enough with a proper mouthpiece. Slide is very scratchy and noisy to start with, but improves with playing. It does sing adequately in the higher registers, and bark in the low register. Partials seem to pop out very easily. What's not to like?

Good Learning Instrument
Ive been a valve brass player for many years and had a go on trombone when I was a junior but my love for the Euphonium saw me playing Euphonium/Baritone for 20 odd years.Recently we have had a shortages of Trombone players in our band and ive been filling in the parts on Euph which is too heavy for the job so bought a PBone to see if I could handle playing trombone and I was very surprised how good they sound and don't sound like a cheap instrument. Also particularly good to learn on as playing a brass trombone takes a bit of time to build the arm muscles so with the Pbone you can play for a long time without getting a sore arm!The slide is excellent, Ive had a go on old Trombones with not perfect slides which feel like using a saw but the PBone slides effortlessly.

Pbone Plastic Trombone Outfit - Black
The trombone arrived in perfect condition and met all my expectations. It is much lighter than a brass instrument and perfect for the younger beginner. The sound is a little less bright, but none-the-less sounds like a trombone. The slide perfoms without lubrication and improves over time; a younger, begginer player can certainly get away without having to use any grease (one less thing to get wrong or worry about). I was very pleasantly surprised.

It's a trombone but made of plastic!
I've been playing the trombone for over twenty years, I've recently joined a Gugge band which plays lots of carnivals, festivals and outdoor gigs during which frequent trips to the pub are made. I didn't want to leave my precious bone outside a pub so I bought a pbone, it's great. Plays just like a normal trombone but only weighs 1kgish, my 4 year old son can play it without help holding it. It's really well balanced, and after a while you don't even notice you're playing a plastic trombone. If you gig outdoors, have a young child who wants to play or are a learner yourself I'd advise you get one if these. You'll never join the Vienna phil, but you'll have a great laugh and not have to worry about dents. Possibly most important of all you can enjoy your beer while the rest of the band are looking over their shoulders to check on their instruments.

Disappointed
No instructions on putting this instrument together- as a result it keeps coming apart as we try to use it!

Good value
Good value but difficult to gauge the size. Even for my reasonably tall 9 year old, it is quite a stretch, although it is implied that it is defnitely for children of all ages. However, good starting point for beginners and a fun, relatively cheap way into the instrument. Colour choice is great!
