Great! I covered mine with blue & green prints
Really great, easy to assemble. I used a hot glue gun to close the side tabs that otherwise stick out. After reading a previous post and seeing the photo of the boxes covered in prints I decided to do the same (thank you previous person who wrote that review and posted the pic!) I covered them in green & blue prints and trimmed the top (that is why my books stick out the top (because I trimmed it to fit a 8x11 sheet of computer paper. In retrospect I would have you wrapping paper and not have cut off the tops at all, its looks messier this way. Wish they sold it in packs of 6 as well, I need a few more but not as many as 12. Oh well, all is all a good product. I dropped a box filled with box (about a 4 foot drop) and I was certain the box would break or bend given its cardboard, it was undamaged, not even a dent. Its thick cardboard and super sturdy, does not bend even if you over stuff your box a bit! Great deal too because decorative boxes go for $10-20 each, and I made a dozed for $18 :)

Redesigned? Pictures not accurate.
I bought two boxes (24 total file boxes) and got two different kinds. The files in the first box I opened had a single cardboard "latch" at the front (the short side). I taped all these with packing tape as other reviewers suggested. The files in the second box came together at the back (the tall side) and were secured with two cardboard latches. I felt no need to add additional security to these. The two-latch setup is much harder to assemble as one of the tabs has to be passed through a slot. My four-year-old helped me assemble the first batch, but not the second.Based on Fellowes' website, I'd guess the two-latch kind are the newer design but it's pretty hard to tell. Neither of my boxes looked like those in any of the various pictures accompanying this page. The ones I received have a pinstripe around the bottom and say "Bankers Box" on all four sides. They hold more magazines than I thought they would. 12 boxes takes up a little more than 4 feet of shelf space.

I Received 2 Different Styles of Magazine Holders!! Please Read this Before Ordering!!
I ordered a total of 4 Boxes of 12 on 3 separate orders. I received 2 boxes that fold closed on the short side and 2 boxes that fold closed on the tall side. The ones that close on the short side are thicker cardboard and fold nicely and are easy to put together and will hold up much longer. The ones that close on the tall side are a thinner cardboard and are more difficult to assemble and will probably need to be taped to hold my books and magazines. Needless to say, if I need to tape the boxes in the front, It is going to look crappy as they age. Amazon can't replace them because they have the same product code on the boxes. So, Bankers Box has changed their production of these file boxes and nobody from Amazon knows if this is new stock or old stock. The crappy Bankers File Boxes that I ordered were shipped from Amazon Warehouse in Kentucky and the Good Bankers Boxes were shipped from the West Coast Amazon Warehouse. I don't have a local store that carries these file boxes to compare if they are new stock or old stock. I will post some pics on these.

Great quality and good design
I've recently bought magazine holders that were thin and weak and returned them. Finally I found a brand and model that are sturdy, affordable and strong enough to last for a long time to preserve my older and beloved hobby and motorcycle magazines. Great product. I just ordered another dozen. :)

Great for storying magazines.
These were a request for a gift for my husband. He loves them and asked me to order more for him. He has a collection of old model airplane magazines that he loves to browse through and they were getting damaged where he had them stored. He has coordinated all of his magazines now and labeled the boxes with titles and dates of the magazines and he is very happy with these storage boxes. They are very sturdy and stay upright very well. I have some plastic ones that you have to prop up next to something to keep them from falling over and spilling. He has not trouble with these staying upright.

Acceptable for book boxes
I'm a 3rd grade teacher who is using these for book boxes (Daily 5). I went ahead and taped any seams and the bottoms inside and out. They will have at most 3-4 books in the boxes but will be moving them around the room. They seem to be a pretty sturdy cardboard and took a bit of time to put together but weren't too complicated. We were using cereal boxes before so this is a definite upgrade for us!I ordered 2 sets of 12. I actually received different sets but they were the same when put together. One set assembled in the front while the other assembled to the side. I'll be interested to see if they hold up the same. Pleased so far! Will post again after some wear and tear.

Two different ways to assemble
I am not sure how it worked out, but I ordered two sets of these for my classroom and I ended up getting the same product with two different ways to assemble them. The first set I opened went together very quickly after a little trial & error to see how they assemble (there were no directions); these fastened in the front. The second set took at least 3 times as long to assemble due to the tricky positioning of the assembly tabs; these fastened in the back. Once assembled they both seemed to function just fine. I did use some packaging tape to provide a little extra support at the point of assembly.

Design problem
I bought this particular brand of magazine file because it is economical and, after all, it is just cardboard. The problem is a poor design of tabs and slots that requires significant amounts of packing tape to secure.

Alright
A little less sturdy than I expected for Bankers Box brand but they do the job.
