One Star
Poorly written with negligible illustrations, and with lots of irrelevant detail. Not suited for someone from the medical field.

A very good introduction to cell signalling
Excellent book. Very good introduction to cell signalling. The chapters progress in a logical manner; signals, receptors, transduction (incl; 2nd messengers, g-proteins, kinases etc) all of which are supported with relevant case studies e.g. "calcium ions and apoptosis" to help contextualise the theory. Style of writing is easy to follow. Insight into the practical aspects of cell signalling are also included, with an overview of key techniques. This text is suitable for 2nd and 3rd year undergraduates, but also a good reference for post-graduate study. Signalling is covered in all biological systems and I would recommend to those with an interest in cancer biology as a general overview.
