Cisco DPQ3212 Cable Modem

Was so happy to know there was an option to renting a modem. This one works fine! The swap was easy, and no problems! So far so good! Very happy with my purchase!

I would give this a 0 star if the rating was an option. Did not work. There is a glitch in the modem. We were very tired after the move, then the frustration of no Internet. The cable techs fought with it for a half hour before I finally gave them another modem that fired right up

I paid $25 to buy this modem to save the $10 monthly fee cablevision wanted to rent theirs. On installation day, cable tech hooks up everything and gets to my modem. He calls it in and claims the phone jack won't work. It's a weak signal and he hears it internally trying to start but won't. Says as a refurbished unit it happens. Goes to his truck and gets my rental modem until I buy a new one. Tech leaves, I disconnect their rental modem and reinstall this modem and call it in to activate it. Tech on the phone walks me thru the process and within 5 minutes everything works 100%. On site tech tried to mislead me but I won out in the end. One time purchase saves me at least 21 1/2 months of a rental.

It was delivered very fast. Works great per expectations. My cable company (Optimum) start charging for their own modem suddenly, so I had to purchase this modem to avoid renting fees from them. I use it for 1 month now and satisfied.

Still paying extra "leasing charges" for OPTIMUN cable modem ? This item will solve that problem, please follow this simple steps, 1.- take a picture of the cisco DPQ3112 Clable modem label, zoom it where it says MAC number, Call OPTIMUN cable and ask for modem exchange , they will ask for your new Cable mode MAC number, 2.- After they reset your modem ( will take 2 or 3 minutes, is a very simple step), ASK THEM FOR A FREE PREPAID SHIPPING LABEL, Optimun will email you a prepaid shipping label, 3.- BANG your cable bill will be down for at least $10 monthly. Very good modem

I've been using the box for several months now, but recently I've been having unstable internet service and the best way to clear things up is to reboot the box (read: unplug the power and plug it back in). Maybe its not the modem and its something else but I can't figure out what. I'll get another cable modem soon and if that one has the same problems, bump this up 2 stars.
