Outlaw 1200 WWWOOOWWW!!!
All I can say is WOW. This bike IS what they advertise. It will be hard to top this one unless you go out and spend $10K+ for a Stealth Bomber.First about me. I'm 5'7" and about 260ibs. A little overweight for this bike. The specs place a 220ib limit.UNPACKING - Very well packaged in a rather larger box that FedEx was very happy to get off the truck. The bike comes assembled except, the handlebar, pedals and front wheel. There was enough packing to prevent any movement inside the box during shipment. The battery pack, charger and other accessories where in two separate boxes inside the main shipper.SETUP - Battery headed for the charger which resembles a laptop power supply. A single cord plugs into a port at the front of the battery. Pedals and front wheel easy to assemble once we figured out how to remove the axel from the fork. The manual only gave a rough representation of how to assemble these parts. The bike comes with a multi-tool that neglects to have the right size wrench to lock down the handlebar. A quick visit to my neighbor and we had that problem licked. Checked for anything loose, made a positioning adjustment to one of the brake lines and I was ready to ride. Oops, got to wait for that battery to finish charging.THE FIRST RIDE - It should be noted that this bike is for trail riding not for the streets. However in this case, it is going to be ridden on the road. Firstly pedaling this bike without power is fairly easy. I had a Currie IZip E3 Path+ from 2014 which you could barely move without power. If you tried to coast, you could feel it lug and resist a little as you rolled downhill. Not with this bike. It was easy to pedal without power and would roll pretty freely downhill. POWER ON! In 3, 2, 1, From a standstill it took right off. It wasn't long before 28mph was achieved. It handled well. Some reviews online say this is a scary bike to ride because of the power. I've been used to a power bike for a few years and know what feels like to take off like that. It's just a little faster. The reviewers might be right if you have never been a power bike before. So use some caution. Be cautious about tight a sharp turns at speed as well. Anyway, onto the hill test. The first hill at the end of the street goes from level to probably a 20 degree grade. It took the hill except for the very top. a very small amount of pedaling was needed to crest the hill. A flat out speed run was next for about three miles with a quarter mile moderate uphill portion. Handled it no problem. Next was a road with a long S curve hill with multiple grade changes. Only the second segment of the hill after it's first turn did I have to join in on the pedals. two thirds of that hill was courtesy of the 1200 watt motor. Even passed some poor guy walking up the hill with his bike, who yelled out "That's cheating!" as rode by with feet motionless. On the return trip down, I just let it go and it felt like an out of control rollercoaster. A few taps on the brakes for trim and I came sailing out of that hill with almost enough momentum to get me to the end of the street. A couple more flat out runs and hills for good measure and I ran out of power. I don't think I had a complete charge the first time out. I was a little anxious to try it. None the less, I was amazed and impressed with this machine.OBSERVATIONS - You can climb light to moderate hills, but you will sacrifice distance. You should be prepared to pedal along. On my old Currie, you had to set the computer to a high pedal assist mode and drop down to low gear for a hill. With the Outlaw you have no computer or pedal assist. You will find that you need to go to a higher gear until you feel resistance on the pedals in order to do any good in the help department. Coast when possible to save power. The bike has no computer, so you have no idea of speed, distance or a fuel gauge. There is a simple red yellow green light display which helps but isn't very useful if on a longer ride or if you are doing hills. The tires on this thing are meant for off-roading. 2.4 inch wide knobby tires make a lot of noise flying down the road. This thing has a very serious shock absorber in the front. If you have never ridden a bike with one, it feels different when you have to hard brake. It rides well and seems to be stable. My Currie would get wicked speed wobble if you got coasting more the 30mph. This morning I freewheeled down a hill that is a half mile long with four grade changes resembling a double down element on a rollercoaster, a staircase with a landing in the middle. No wobble, didn't even feel compelled to touch the brakes. Just a straight wabba dabba doo run.Now a quick word about ProdecoTech. It took them nearly THREE months to get this bike to me. Several delivery dates were promised and broken and they failed to inform me that they were moving their manufacturing facility, which further delayed production. I was promised an additional battery ($800 value) for my patience and trouble. I didn't receive that battery along with the bike. A call to them seemed like they were trying to get out from under the promise obligation. However, I received a call from one of the owners after a complaint from my seller and they are honoring that commitment. They have been around since the birth of the ebike. Yet in my eyes, they tarnished their reputation with me very badly. The act of honoring a commitment from a now former employee is a start to repairing the relationship. When you buy an item like this you are entering a relationship with the company who built it. If you choose to buy a bike from this line, I would recommend you contact them or your seller to ensure that is actively being produced or that your seller has it directly in their inventory ready for shipment so you don't encounter the disappointment that I endured. I am grateful to them for the battery and they will get a thank you from me, as it is an expensive perk. One final word. This bike is illegal for street use following federal guidelines for ebikes. I am riding in a town with about 1000 illegal unregistered scooters. The cops don't seem to mind or care. It doesn't make it OK. If you choose to ride on the road with something like this, DO be courteous to everyone around you, and DON'T be stupid with it. It is a heavy bike NOT FOR STUNTS or JUMPS. Don't ride on sidewalks. In short don't draw attention to yourself.

Big American Bike for a Big American
First off – it is a very nice bike! Secondly, I’m a Big Boy (yeah, I’m working on it), it is hard to find an E-Bike for a guy like me. I need a bike that is solidly built with thick spokes. The Outlaw is a tank. The bike is 62lbs, I’m north of 250, add some clothes, a backpack, accessories and two bottles of water and you have a huge rolling mass barreling down the path. That is a lot of weight to move and to stop. I’m not looking to move fast, I am happy just to move period. This does both. The 1200-watt (1600w peak) motor gets me up the hills without a complaint and without noise. The only noise comes from the normal clicking of the gear sprocket. Coming to a stop is effortless and drama-free. Those 4-piston hydraulic disk brakes are enough to stop a freight train.I use this bike to commute to work. Ride respectfully and the man will leave you alone. It is really set up for the trail, so plan to make it more commuter-friendly. I will be adding a Thudbuster seat post, a wider comfort seat, a stem riser to raise the handlebars, a smoother pair of tires and a kick-stand (it really needs a kick-stand). ProdecoTech does make a beach bike, and I would have bought it, but the motor isn’t as powerful. All-in-all, this is a very well-built product and well worth the price.

This bike is a BLAST!
I just picked mine up today at shocking rides in the hills above Sacramento. I put it on the charger, and mounted a crane brass bell, and a hornet horn on it. Itook it out for a ride tonight. It was doing an easy 29 miles an hour without pedaling. I started pedaling and was keeping up with traffic in a 35 MPH zone. Usually cars stayed behind and watched me, but when they did pass they would roll down the window and say something about how cool the bike was. People were dismayed that I was going so fast. I was ringing the bell and honking at pedestrians as I passed by pedaling at over 30 MPH, and they were looking up, turning and watching, with expressions of WTF! I had alot of fun! I cant wait to take it out again tomorrow. I have some Monkey lights to mount in the front rim for tomorrow night. This is going to be a blast! I have solar panels, a battery bank, and a pure sign wave converter I will be charging it off of , so Ill be riding for free, with pure clean power!
