a new angle on sleep
Prompt shipment. After unfurling the two wedges and leaving them set out for a day to fully expand, covering them and putting them into place was easy. So far it is working as expected. Takes very little time to get used to the new angle.

A good product backed by truly outstanding customer service
The bottom line is that this is the single best solution at its price point (or anything close) for elevating your upper body during the night (for acid reflux, sleep apnea, etc.).I bought this to help treat my GERD after trying several other products (such as partial body bed wedges, which worked but made sleep extremely uncomfortable as I'm a side/stomach sleeper who naturally tosses and turns a lot). There were a few different brands of full-body mattress elevators out there, but I bought Avana because it had the strictest purity/offgassing certifications, is made in the USA, and seemed to have the best customer service from reviews that I read. That customer service ended up being necessary and it was as outstanding as I'd hoped - more on that shortly. The elevator comes compressed, and if you order it with a cover it comes separately in the same box. I let the elevator decompress for several days (it's almost completely odorless, which is nice) and once it was fully expanded, I went to put the cover on. That thing was not fitting on at all! I took some measurements and noticed that the elevator was over two inches longer than advertised - this extra length not only made it impossible to fit the cover on, but due to the way my bedframe is structured, also made it impossible to fit under my mattress. In the meantime, I tried placing the elevator on top of my mattress for a few days and sleeping directly on it.I wrote to Avana's customer service email and received a very kind message back from a customer service representative Leon, explaining that on rare occasion the mattress elevator can expand more than intended, and offering to exchange it for a new one at no cost to me (even shipping was covered). That was certainly acceptable for me and Leon was very prompt and thoughtful as we worked out the details over the next week. This time around Leon asked the factory to place the cover on the elevator before compressing it - that would ensure the elevator wouldn't expand more than intended. I truly appreciate that kind of service - these days it is harder and harder to find companies that truly stand behind their products and are willing to make things right, no questions asked. This second mattress elevator fits perfectly into my bedframe, has been doing its job beautifully the last two months, and shows no signs of wear nor deformation. I am far more comfortable during the night than I ever was using any other sleep solution, my GERD is well under control, and aside from having to hop up a few extra inches onto my bed at night, allows me to enjoy the exact feel of my mattress.I would advise placing this under your mattress - over the mattress does work as advertised without deforming, but the sturdy foam has very little give and is not a comfortable surface to sleep directly on.Overall, I am thrilled with my purchase, and between the high quality of the product and the outstanding customer service provided when something went wrong, I fully recommend the Avana Mattress Elevator to anyone with a condition that can be improved by elevating your upper body.

It works!
We have an IKEA bed (slats) with a very heavy, dead-weight (but extremely comfortable) IKEA 100% LaTeX mattress. I wasn't sure how these would hold up, but it works great. My wife says my snoring is down 90%, my sleep is much better. I have no more acid reflux issues at night. While I am very good about not eating after 7-8pm, I did have ice cream at 8pm last night, which was a test to see how it worked. Amazingly, I had no acid issues. I have significantly cut back on taking acid reducer meds. My wife has stomach hernia thing, which is what prompted us to get the riser per doctor recommendation. The downside, it takes a few weeks to get used to it, and occasionally you have to pull yourself or your blanks back up. It is after all an incline. I seemed to have gained more from it than my wife has, and we got it for her condition. My wife thinks we are officially old, with the riser bed. Maybe so, but wish I had gotten something like this 10 years ago.

Works best between mattress and box Spring. BUY WITH COVER
First and foremost, I cannot imagine trying to put a cover on this product. Buy it with cover.Pros: comfort; elevation: lack of odor; generally stays in place; two parts (king size) work together fine. It is worth the money because it relieved GERD symptoms and improved my life.Cons: Unless it's under the mattress there is some slippage; it takes a few nights to become accustomed to the height. You may have to change pillows. You can't really use it on only one side of the bed. If you have a Queen or King you can't get a twin size and put it on one side only. It would ruin your mattress. I am petite so getting into this high bed is a challenge because I have a thick mattress and just added 7 inches to height. It's worth the expense.

Comfy, easy to set up
The mattress elevator for a full bed was easy to unpack, easy to put the cover on, and easy to place under my mattress. The foam smell was minor, and dissipated after 24 hours; the time it takes for the foam to expand fully. The height is perfect for preventing gastric reflux, I’m getting a great night’s sleep.

Great! Only product that works with Purple Brand Hybrid #3 Mattresses
This is the ONLY product strong enough to work UNDER the weight of a PURPLE HYBRID #3 Mattress without condensing down flat! As Purple owners know, putting anything on TOP of the mattress defeats the purpose of owning the pricy Purple Brand mattress. Purple Hybrid Mattresses are probably the heaviest mattress on the market, yet the AVANA 7" dense foam remains firm, despite the mattress weight, allowing incline to prevent reflux without being smashed flat. (I'm confident the Avana 5" version would work under the much lighter, thinner "Original Purple" mattress as well.) This product will also work great on TOP of any other type of mattress. *Note: The problem with platform bed frames is that if just the head of the platform is raised (i.e.blocks under the feet of the head of the bed etc) then the supports under the middle of the bed no longer touch the floor. Using the Avava bed ramp under the mattress solves this problem! It allows only the mattress to be on a incline, instead of the bed frame, which makes moving the bed for for cleaning etc MUCH easier...This product arrived earlier than expected, was well packaged and no odor. Follow instructions and allow to expand fully before using...After reading reviews, I ordered the QUEEN with the pre-covered pieces (comes as TWO separate queen length pieces, each in a zippered cover, that go side by side, and are EASIER to lift and place than a one large piece). The covers are WELL WORTH the extra money. The covers allowed for easier manipulation when needed to slide the heavy mattress on top of it. Previous reviews has indicated difficulty trying to put covers on yourself so I opted for the pre-covered ones. Very happy with my purchase.
