This toy lasted 5 yrs through 2 dogs
We had this 2 for 5 yrs with 2 dogs and it finally broke down. It's one of my dogs favorite toys and it wasn't in store anymore. Found it on Amazon and my dog is so happy to have a new one.

Perfect.
34 pound jack russel, had the toy for a few weeks. still no sign of wear and he's a BIG chewer. Product was much more durable than I thought. At first I was worried based on reviews, but I noticed those reviews used this product on dogs that were way beyond the recommended size. Just read before you buy.

Don't waste your money!
My dog had this toy for 6 days before it cracked so bad that she couldn't play tug of war with us anymore! Not the quality you expect from the makers of Kong toys!!!

Extremely durable!
About 11 months ago, I welcomed a 7-month-old Male Boxer into our house who proceeded to completely obliterate pretty much every toy I had, and had gotten for him since. Anything Fabric would be gone within minutes. Rope, a day. Hard plastic chews, two days. A few months ago, antler was recommended, and it amazingly lasted a week before he, and my 6-yr old Pit/Boxer/Chocolate Lab mix had managed to break into one and from there it quickly dwindled. Despondent I had nothing that would last for my pup, my gaze fell upon the Kong Teething ring I bought when I adopted him. The foster parents had told me he had lost his puppy teeth but was still teething. This toy had somehow survived. And in fact the dogs would fight over it, as small as it was. So I went looking for something larger by Kong they could play tug-of-war with and found this. It has been over a month of extremely hard play, full on tug-of-war bouts, extreme chewing and flailing and no joke this thing still looks brand new! Thank you so much Kong for making toys that can survive active pups!

Indestructible!
Best toy purchase ever for our bull terrier and English bull dog, both of whom are world-class Destroyers of Toys. It has outlasted all their other toys. The bull terrier in particular loves to play tug, and with this we can engage in, shall we say, extremely enthusiastic play while keeping fingers out of danger from inadvertently wayward teeth.

Have a dog toy destroyer?
If you have a true chewer, I wouldn't recommend. Had it for less than 24 hours and my 35# Pitty mix totally destroyed it. I will say for the good side, I contacted KONG, they offered a replacement or recommended another type toy, I chose the other type toy, recieved it very quickly. Excellent replacement for my toy destroyer. The replacement pictured below.

Very durable and fun for dog
We have a Belgium Mal/German Shepherd mix who teases us into tugging multiple times during the day. Despite being able to lift this 70# pup off the ground by this toy it is only now, after 3 years, starting to show wear. So, purchases a backup for when it starts to rip and swallowing chunks is a risk. Great long lasting toy. I, personally, am allergic to a lot of latex products. E.g., I cannot tolerate the black Kong toys meant to hold peanut butter, they make me wheeze and get rashy. This tug toy does not set me off.

Fun For Less Aggressive Pullers
This was a fun tug toy for my 50lb pit-bull mix. It has a comfortable bite area and easy-to-hold shape for aggressive pulling, but after a few play sessions it snapped and hit my dog in the nose. Now she won't go near it. It was fun while it lasted but I wouldn't purchase again.
