HID OMNIKEY 3121 USB Smart Card Reader eID ID Identity Card Digital Signature

I bought this and iOS lightning adaptor but it didn’t work, luckily I have android spare phone and used that with this card reader and tacho app, works perfectly - recommended but for android only

The HID OMNIKEY is basically the Volkswagen of tachocard readers, solid, dependable, and not exactly thrilling, but it’ll get the job done without bursting into flames. Personally, it’s a toss-up between this and the Cherry. The Cherry only wins if you value a card reader that could double as a murder weapon. The HID, on the other hand, is lightweight, nicely built, and comes with a clever little base that keeps it steady without gluing it to your desk. Want it horizontal like an ATM? Tough luck, you’ll need to buy another base.Setup is idiot-proof and it plays nicely with all the big tacho software (yes, Tachomaster friend, it'll work just fine). For twenty quid, the value’s cracking. You really can’t go wrong, UNLESS you’re the sort of boss who underpays and overworks your drivers. In that case, skip the HID and go for the Cherry; it’s sturdier for when the mutiny begins.

I purchased this product on good faith and information that it would work on my laptop when I pluged in the USB cable. I insrted may digital drivers card and nothing happened the card reader did not even show that it was working.What I don't appreciate is the fabricated lyies on how this device worked or that it would work when connected to my laptop. so I will not be endorsing this item or recommending it for personal use, neither will I recommend this device to anyone wishing to buy it!!!!!!!!

I needed an eID reader and I found this product more reliable than the alternatives. I only used it a couple of times and it performed as expected.

Had taken in immergency and brought it from Amazon and was really confused if its going to work or no, but to my surprise its working 100% super like charm.Auto detected in Windows 10/ 11 Laptops and Desktop PCs.and Also detecting Out of India (residence cards) as well as read all smart cards.I am totally satisfied and a happy customer :-)

I received this smart card reader earlier than expected, and when I went to use it the first time, I had no issues using it and setting it up. Well there really isnt much to do as far as setting up. Its pretty much a plug and play setup. There are options for downloading add on software that you can use to test your reader to make sure its working properly, but for the most part you just need to plug it in to your computer and start reading smart cards or writing data to cards. This reader/writer works with pretty much all JCOP cards and has alot of supporting information on their site. I would prefer to use this reader over its other version thats a little more portable but I dont think the other version is as accurate or reads as fast as the OMNIkey. I have been using this reader on a regular bases and it has been working perfectly with now issues. it evens displays information from cards that I didnt know it even could read. So I suggest investing in the reader if you are getting into carding or if you just want to see what these readers are all about, you can learn alot from just messing around with it and seeing what kind of information you can pull from different cards and chips
