A Redbird Christmas: A Novel

Cute story
This was the first book by Fannie Flagg that I have read. It had cute and somewhat quirky, but loveable characters. I loved Oswald the best! I couldn’t wait to get back to it everyday. I will be reading more by Ms. Flagg.

This one will stay with me. I will read it over and over.
I absolutely loved it!! What a beautiful story. The characters are endearing, and I read this in a night. I love stories about small towns and all the people in them. This is a book I will reread over and over. I live in Alabama now, and it doesn't snow much in my area. Every year, I pray for the chance to see another big snow. Because just like Patsy, I believe in miracles. I have read several of Ms. Flagg's books and have loved them all. I am so happy there are several more I haven't read, but I will correct that oversight.

Recommend the book
The book is a about hope and second chances. There are several characters in the book that you will want to root for a second chance or change of circumstances. You will have to read for yourself to see who triumphs in the end.

Simple yet effective
This was our book club choice for December and while I normally keep my book club reads till closer to the next meeting, I thought I should like to read this one over the Christmas holiday rather than mid-January.It's a sweet tale of small town America that has a modern day fairy tale feel to it; full of hope, compassion, and a general willingness to help others for no other reason than you can.Very simply written but beautifully effective; the sentiment and emotion is conveyed perfectly without the use of long fancy over-descriptive words. It's not necessary to read at Christmas time as the story progesses over the year, it just happens to start and finish at Christmas. If you liked The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend you'll enjoy this book too.

Another Fannie Flagg comfort read
In these days of despair, it's great to know that Fannie Flagg will still keep your spirits up. Well written, joyously upbeat, it does the job perfectly of keeping the virus at bay. Perhaps the Donald should try it, instead of bleach!I wouldn't say it was her best, but then who can top Fried Green Tomatoes anyway? A delightful and uplifting read. Thank you, Fannie, looking forward to the next one!Jonathan Peat UK

The perfect Christmas must read.
This has to be one of the most charming books ever. I just love Fannie Flagg books, they transport you away into another world which, sadly, I fear, exists less and less. Others reviewers have described the story so I won't repeat them, just to say I read Redbird every Christmas and have never got bored.

A Cozy Little Story
There is nothing to dislike in this little book I feel. It is the perfect little book to cozy down in a comfy chair and read at Christmas. It warms the heart and pulls you in to a town of misfits pulled together, by the arrival of an older gentleman laid low by life and illness. Together with a disabled orphan and the titular Red bird. Enjoy.
