DO NOT ATTACHED TO A COLLAR! IT CAN STRANGLE YOUR ANIMAL!
It's now 2022 and this is my every day dog leash for use in the car. My dog lives to ride in my lap but I don't let her. She usually is attached to the bas seat paggenger side with this leash that attaches to the headrest. When we get where we're going I can use it wo walk her as it's the perfect length to walk her right by my side.I can attach one to the front seat and the back seat and leave them the by just walking her out of the house with her regular leash.Again, do not attach this to your dogs coller,. You must use a vest for this leash.2020: DO NOT ATTACHED TO A COLLAR! THIS IS NOT DESIGNED TO ATTACH TO A COLLAR. IT CAN STRANGLE YOUR ANIMAL! USE A VEST.2020: I just rescued a small dog. She has severe trachial spasm so using a collar with a leash or car seat isn't possible. I found a vest for her.She loves to ride in the car but wants to sit with me in the driver's seat. I looked at several types of restraints and bought two types. This one came first so I started using it. I just hook it to the vest then latch it around the seat back. It's great to keep my pup on her side of the car. I like that I can use it as a leash when we get out of the car.The other option would be to leave it in the car and bring her regular leash to walk her to and from or if we get out while away from home. That would be a great idea for some people especially if they don't have to restrain their animal between the house and vehicle but my dog is deaf so she must be restrained at all times outside the home or back yard. This restaint will not protect your animal in a crash if they are in the front seat. Not sure if it would in the back seat. It will keep them in the vehicle and will keep them away from the driver so not a distraction for driving. My dog is about 12 pounds. I have the leash cinched down to it's shortest length both at the seat attachment and at the area between the seat attachment and the vest attachment. This keeps my dog from crossing the center console. She is able to get to the seat behind if she wants to but she isn't able to get to the floor in the front seat very easily. There is plenty of length there if you need it.The stitching and attachments seem very strong. The buckles are just plastic but seem like to they should last. The clip to attach to the vest is large and strong. The plastic piece that slides up and down the length of the strap that should prevent the leash from lengthening isn't very tight. It's almost useless. I'm trying to figure out something to do to keep it in place. Because it is loose, the leash sometimes gets longer when I don't want it to. Not much of a problem for me but don't know if a stronger dog would be able to slip it out and make it longer. (Wish I could explain better. It's just a slide but not the piece where you adjust the length.)I still have the other strap (it comes as a two-pack) so I might just attach one to the seat and leave it and use the other one as a leash.I also have the other type of restaint that I bought that attaches to the seat belt but don't know if my dog would be able to unbuckle it if she stepped on it just right. That one also would not be good in the front seat because she would still be able to get into my lap. So for now, this one is just perfect for us.

Versatile
Use these to strap dogs into car, cart, or any other place I need them restrained. I use these leashes more than I thought I would!

Dog harness auto hookup
This seems to be a perfect solution to keep pets in their seat when driving. However, there were no instructions to adjust for the proper amount of movement allowed. My dog turned around somehow and had this around her neck. Instructions for adjustments please!

Has some issues...
tl;dr: I like it as a leash but not satisfied with it for car safety. Don't attach it to the headrest. The Good:-Interior bungee makes this a lot more gentle both when it's being used as a leash and seatbelt-Works as a nice short leash for when you want to keep your dog right at your side-Very convenient being able to just clip the dog into/out of the car and goThe Bad:-Even at its shortest adjusted length, it's too long in the car. I wanted something with a bungee buffer that prevents the dog from slamming into the dashboard/front seat in an impact. While this keeps him from going out the window, he's still going to seriously injure his head/neck.-The option of securing it to the headrest is good in theory, but allows the dog to jump between front and back seat which is the opposite of what I want while driving.-Everything is very sturdy except the buckle clip. My dog got his mouth on it and instantly shattered it. Honestly it's an extraneous part since securing my dog to the headrest is a bad idea, I should have gone for a normal handle.

These look DURABLE.
Had to replace the one in my car. These look great. They have a few inches of elastic give which to me is brilliant. Got them only yesterday so haven't had time to use so far. I have confidence these will last a good while. Will update when I put them to the test. I have a goldendoodle and I will know for sure if they truly are as good as I hope.

Dissatisfied
Ordered these dog seatbelts that go over the headrest and needed them for a new pup. After finally getting the package, we received flimsy seatbelts that go into the seatbelt clips which is no good. Disappointing customer service. Now I have to go buy printer ink to print return labels and send it back. Then place another order and wait again. I decided to go with a different seller this time.

Good but not sturdy enough
I only had these for two weeks and one of them came apart at the ring, see picture, so my dog was loose in the truck. The picture shows 2 of them side by side. the first ring is completely closed, the 2nd one is open. They are very nice head rest seat belts but surprised the ring didn't hold for long.

Good
Really good and does its job. However if your dog likes to chew... they will most likely themselves out of it as it's easy to chew it off!

Great product
We originally had leashes hooked into the seat belt, but these kept on unlocking. This item gives us a feeling of confidence that the dogs can't get out of the back seat but are still able to enjoy the car ride.
