Can tap pin makes a difference
Only good can tap I have found. The other can taps I tried had a pointed pin which did not work. This tap has a flat tap pin and works very well.

Good buy
Easy to install on my gauges and seals tightly. Works perfectly for the cheap cans of Walmart refrigerator. I've had one on a partially used can for several months now, and it hasn't leaked out.

Good Quality --- BUT MAKE SURE IT'S REALLY WHAT YOU NEED
This is a nicely made brass valve, and I have no complaints about it. There were no burrs or defects.BUT, the manufacturers of the refrigerant cans are now making the cans so you can take off the valve without all the remaining refrigerant coming out. There is a little silicone flap seal in the can, and the valve has to push that inward for the refrigerant to flow. THIS ONE DOES NOT WORK ON SELF-SEALING CANS. That's not the seller or manufacturer's fault, because they make it clear that this is for puncture-type cans. But they do not work on the self-sealing cans. For the self-sealing cans you need a valve that opens the seal with a FLAT tip, not a pointed one. If you use this on a self-sealing can no refrigerant will flow. The valves for self-sealing cans look almost exactly like this one, but with a flat plunger, not a pointed one. They're available here as well for the same price.

Fits can to cheap set of gauges. Otherwise gauges are useless.
This fits the can to the cheap set of gauges. I have a new gauge set and all was well until I tried to attach a can of R123a and found it was a different thread. A--- Z--- auto and the Bog O, only have one style valve, they do not fit the gauges. This is needed otherwise you pull a vacuum and have to stop. I did ruin the valve I had on the can, wasted a can, and had a fit until I found this and got it next day, with a separate set of brass adapters.

Leaks when storing leftover
It worked well on the job for me and I was able to pierce through 6 cans of r134 a and fill the ac system on two cars. One of the problems I noticed is when piercing the cans you have to be quick or it will leak. I recommend piercing the cans while the hose is attached to ac manifold. I also happened to have about 5oz left on a r134a 12 oz can and I left it sealed tight with this fitting only to find it empty the next day. NOT GOOD FOR STORING LEFTOVER R134a cans it leaked on mines!!

Works better than OEM
My OEM valve broke while attaching the adapter to use my gauges. It was a cheap two-piece, aluminum valve that barely had threads. This is a solid one-piece cast brass valve that has the correct fitting to connect to the gauge set. I recommend it and if this gets caught in a nuclear holocaust and has to be replaced, I'll get this one again.
