Casual HomeMontego Bookcase, 5-Shelf, White,324-51

I bought one, put it together myself, and it wasn't difficult. I am old but had no problem-only six pieces, and a top- comes with screws and an allen wrench. Everything was there. I bought two more with no problem assembling them. They were incredibly inexpensive, but real wood. They were stained a medium dark cherry mahogany color, which went with either colonial type furniture or more modern. I have a lot of expensive furniture and books and these fit right in. Amazingly, these are real wood, not fiberboard! In all three bookshelves, everything was there, all hardware and parts. The product had a wide bottom shelf, a middle shelf, and a top, which can be used for more books, magazines, or display. The shelf is low but holds a lot. It's sturdy and has two supports at the back, although the back is open. It would be possible to add a backing if you are handy and want one, but it goes flat against the wall if not. For the price, this is a good buy in my opinion.

Let me start my review by saying, DON'T BUY THIS BOOKCASE USED. Even if it says "Like New" condition! That was my first attempt at buying this; I stupidly thought that (since Used items fulfilled by Amazon Warehouse are inspected before shipment) I would get a thoroughly checked-out, "like new" piece of furniture. That was not the case. The first time I received this bookcase, it was in terrible condition, with nails protruding and covered in scratches. It was poorly packaged, and to top it all off, it came with no hardware or instructions. I was able to get a refund, thank god.I still really liked the look of this piece, so I bravely decided to order another one (NEW this time!). It came quickly with Amazon Prime and was in MUCH better shape than the first one. I did notice a few minor flaws as I was putting it together, but nothing obvious. For the price, the quality was about what I expected. Assembly was fairly easy, I did it alone in about 1-1.5 hours. It didn't seem incredibly sturdy at first, but once I loaded up the bottom with heavy books it felt solid. I would probably anchor it to the wall in most cases, but since it's not really in danger of falling on anything where I put it, I didn't bother.The only minor issue I have with it is it's slightly redder than what I would consider "Walnut" (especially if there's sunlight shining directly on it), but it matches my walnut table well enough. I'm generally happy with it.Overall this is a decent bookcase. Not fantastic, but holds a good amount of books and doesn't break the bank.

I ordered 4 of these for a home office, and they are fabulous. It took a while to assemble the first one, but after I got the hang of it, the rest took me about 30 to 40 minutes. They are sturdy when assembled and none of mine came damaged and in fact were very well boxed. The only thing I should tell future buyers is that you should modify the instructions slightly, though I didn't think that detracted from the book shelves which is why I still gave them 5 stars.1) On diagram two it says that you can put the wooden screw covers on, and I would wait until full assembly and you have it upright again. I found that some of the bolts needed to be tightened, and I was easily able to put on the covers as the last thing I did.2) One diagram three, it says to screw the top shelf of the unit to the two support bars and then bolt them onto the almost completed bookshelf. None of the four I received had guide holes drilled into the top shelf, so instead, I bolted the two supporting bars onto the bookshelf first, and then set the whole bookcase on the top shelf, (the bookshelf would be upside down) and drilled in the screws with an electric drill. On one side you do have to angle the screwdriver a bit to get it in there, but I didn't have a problem.I bought these bookshelves after reading the reviews on amazon because I needed sturdy shelves to be able to hold book weight and I am very pleased with these. And they are pretty. PS. they are 15 dollars less these three days later than when I ordered them.

Before you start: If you drink, get out the booze...you're gonna need it! If you have kids, send them far away before you traumatize their sweet ears. Ladies, cut all your nails off cuz you'll prob snap each one off before this is over. If you don't cuss, you're about to. If you do, you're going to make up new uses for the F Bomb. If you're not patient, just stop now. If you have a bad back, stop now.Don't look at these shelves wrong or it's going to break, it's basically made of cardboard, sawdust and spit. None of the screws actually fit in the holes but if you force anything then it's gonna crack. The instructions don't actually tell you to put it together in the order in needs to go. If you follow them be prepared to realize your mistakes and start all over!This was a huge waste of money, an afternoon, and of my sanity.Oh! And! They STINK! They have a horrible, really strong, chemical smell.

Love them little bookcases. I got those for 88.39$ CAD each so i review accordingly..i wasnt expecting to have solid oak at that price. But i was pleasently surprised, very sturdy and a breeze to assemble. color says walnut but more of a cherry . I am glad i went pass the bad reviews i have read and bought them anyway at that deal price.

I am so happy with this book case. It was so easy to assemble and it’s solid material makes it very sturdy. And considering I have a lot of hard cover books, this is a huge bonus. It’s also quite stylish too. Although I personally didn’t assemble it, I watched the person doing it and it was put together in less than 15 minutes. I believe that there is an option to anchor it to a wall for additional stability which I think is a great idea! This is a great lower budget option.

This bookcase we have placed at the end of a hallway going into our kitchen. It perfectly matches our cupboard colour. It was easier to put together but two cross pieces were not nailed properly during production... human error I suppose..too much bother to send back as it came from the states and took a while to get to canada, so we are going to have to pull out the wood glue for these two cross side pieces.

Beau meuble,facile d assemblage par contre la couleur que j' ai commandé qui est walnut était plutôt bourgogne,vraiment trop de rouge dans leur couleur walnut alors je l' ai peinte car trop foncé pour ce que je m'attendait et selon les photos proposé vous serez déçu si vous ne voulez pas de rouge sinon bon achat

Looks a lot better online than in person. Cheaply made, shoddy paint job that shows the low quality wood through, a sticker permanently stuck to the one shelf, and it stinks. Very low quality.
