Good product so far

As a DIY Grandmother over 70, this tool has made it so easy to use for pruning hedges and tree branches. The handle does extend rather long but be aware it does get top heavy when fully extended. What works for me is when pruning high tree branches, I prune for a few minutes, take a break and continue. That said, the pruner is powerful, blade is sharp and easy to clean, the battery is definitely long lasting and charges fast. I like the design on the extension post that allows angle setting to reposition the pruner access to difficult areas. To finalize this review, I also purchased a different MZK 20V product in 2024 (MZK Cordless Pole Grass Shear/Hedge Trimmer), which I found to be another awesome tool I absolutely enjoy, and discovered the extension post, battery adapter and batteries are interchangeable/compatible with this MZK 20V Cordless Pole Garden Pruner. :-) I'm enjoying the continued landscaping maintenance using these cordless tools which has made the work easier and faster to complete. Highly recommend.

I have been impressed with this pruner for its ability to shear off limbs that my hand pruner won't cut. This pruner will even go through hardwoods and with the extention pole will help you clear volunteer trees out of your shrubs very easily. The pole makes it easy to reach the base of the bush or tree so there is no bending down to get to the base of the bush or tree. The pruner gets a little warm with repeated, sequential use but that is not problematic. It never ran out of power or got weak. It is just working hard. The best way to tell if it will cut a branch is to insert the branch into the bottom of the blades closest to the machine. If the branch fits it will get cut = just pull the trigger. The blades are replaceable and if you have the equipment and/or skills they can be resharpened. I did contact customer service via email regarding a noobie question and they responded within 24 hours. One caveat: if you go off Amazon there is a scam website masquerading as MZK tools. It advertises this tool for $59.95 with free shipping. Don't fall for it - it is a scam. If you're gullible it will take your PayPal or whatever information and your money and I doubt you'll ever see the tool or your money ever again. As Isaac Asimov once said, "I don't subscribe to the thesis, 'Let the buyer beware,' I prefer the disregarded one that goes, 'Let the seller be honest.' In conclusion, stay on Amazon to buy this tool - avoid off-site scammers, and don't let your small children play with this tool.

I was pleased with the strength of the cutting and the battery life. I own a cherry orchard and use it to cut branches and suckers. Cherry is a hard wood so I was concerned that this tool would be able to cut the wood. It had no problem cutting through 3/4 inch branches. I thought I would need to recharge the battery to get through my orchard but it has lasted a long time. Originally, this pruner was great. After three months the cutting mechanism broke. I have tried on multiple occasions to get in contact with the manufacturer and have heard nothing. No response at all! They give you a customer contact email address but nobody responds. It might be a good product for a little while but if you have a problem and get no service it becomes a marginal product at best. UPDATE: I was able to get in touch with customer service and they quickly resolved my problem.

As I am getting older, I feel the need to purchase some gardening tools to adapt to gradual physical limitations. Since I do a lot of pruning (at home and at a public garden where I volunteer), I wanted battery powered pruning shears. I selected this one because it offered a powerful battery and could be connected to an extendable pole. I've used it a few times and can state that it does the job nicely. It cuts through 1/2" branches easily. Thicker branches (roughly 1") may have required a second or even a third trigger pull (depending on the type of wood), but they came down. I have been able to cut branches 10-12 feet above. Also, by adjusting the angle to 90 degrees, I can cut low growth without having to bend over. The only downside is the weight, which for now I can handle just fine.
